ОтветитьI drove a standard (19" wheels, entry level motor) one of these yesterday and the ride was better than my TT and our XC60 (R Design spec, so sportier). For me, Tesla are the Apple of cars. Most things are just right and done incredibly simply - they make your life easier. I don't want tons of options and specs - I just like the base spec to have what I need. I want Apple, not Android.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love mine, 19inch wheels are perfect for this car I’ve had no issues on the road. The car is a rocket if you pre condition battery it can charge at 1600km per hour which means a 80 percent charge in 15min.
ОтветитьAs of now (July 2023) the Tesla Model Y is the best selling EV globally and even managed to score best selling car globally in Q1 2023. It has become one of the hottest items on the market worldwide.
So, about that competition, dear Rory? Obliterated.
This is an excellent review. My only concern is that the recommendation at the end saying one should buy it when it’s acknowledged there are better cars out there is perhaps being a little too kind and generous to Tesla. I would have said it’s a commendable product but I would wait until these imperfections are ironed out before buying one.
Ответитьmaybe if you don´t always test the Performance once. the NORMAL one is NOT to hard. you right ONE pedel drive sucks.. Much better to have to use the break pedal even its just for regen, many people think if you press the break padel you using the break pads.. NO BYD using up to 90kw regen before using the break pads then presseing the break peadel, and that feeling is closer to what we use on ICE cars.. so FUCK ONE Pedal drive.

ОтветитьI was parked beside one at a rapid charger in my Enyaq IV80x & I thought it was a really ugly car, but I suppose I'm a bit biased as I like my cars to be practical load carriers like the old Volvo estates, I even think my Enyaq slopes too much at the back.
ОтветитьI bought Model Y as it is the safest car ever (just beaten by Model X or 3) and OTA updates are real and add features regularly.
A friend has an Ioniq5 which feels like going back in time when I sit in it.

ОтветитьIt's bumpy, it's rattly, when I want something I need to take 2 minutes on the screen, it's unreliable, bad build quality, cheap materials, a steering wheel that wobbles up and down when you move it, fabric on the bottom of the seats, not covered back cup holders in the armrest and covered with cheap plastic, when I put down the back armrest while in drive it makes a loud rattling sound, bad door closing sounds, cheap fabric speakers and part of dashboard which gets worn out quickly, the roof window gets orange in the sun, loud cabin noise, the top of the door wobbles, the trim makes a horrible brittle sound when you knock it, back seat shaking around while drive, back seat belts unsupported so they fall to the side any time you move, scratchy seat belt material, the backs of the front seats are covered with cheap scratchy plastic, old Teslas had a manual opening storage in the centre console, new Teslas centre console storage place is dangerous and can get your hand scratched and caught, back windows only go half way down, zero back window visibility, squeaky windows, barely any configuration choices. If you question me, I tell you that I test drove two Teslas for myself. Teslas should be £15,000 - £20,000 not £50,000, it just doesn't make sense. Beware, Tesla is a scam.
Add on: When I went for my test drive it took me 5 minutes just to open it, I placed the card onto the door pillar where it was meant to be and it just didn't open, Tesla should just make a key for goodness sake and stop trying to be "unique"!! I don't want to take 5 minutes opening a car thank you very much.
Teslas are unique. Uniquely bad.
Ive got a somewhat large dog, my findings;
Enyaq; Huge feeling car, good trunk, 6k more expensive than LR Y
iX3; Best of all of these, awesome trunk but 10-15k more expensive tha LR Y
Mach-e : Not good trunk for dog
Ioniq 5; Worst trunk of all for dog
Model Y; Quality seemed alright, trunk pretty good. Size was good overall. Going to buy one and Ive tried to avoid Tesla.

ОтветитьIt's a pity Tesla didn't do a JV (joint venture) with Mercedes to exploit their build quality expertise. I always thought both companies could benefit from each other's pros.
ОтветитьThe model 3's ride quality is already stiffer than the competition. When you say that the model Y is even stiffer than the model 3, then that is NOT good.
Also keep in mind that Tesla is rated 27 out of 28 auto manufacturers for reliability. As far as the models go, the model Y is not recommended because of its quality and reliability issues, so if you still have to have one, make sure you sell it before its warranty expires or have a Lexus as your main vehicle.
I'd rather suffocate on my CO2 emissions than drive this. It is not a nice looking car.

ОтветитьI can’t be the only one who noticed the panel gap flex when you pushed down on it that you immediately went on to say wasn’t there? Not saying it isn’t improved from other models, but if you’re going to make an overt statement, probably best not to physically demonstrate to the contrary.

I appreciated how you explored the rear seat rattle, and figured out the cause. Normally if that was found people would just say bad build. You can edit Regen breaking on the screen. Generally, reviews are usually easily biased against Tesla, this seemed rather fair. Nice job

ОтветитьTest drive a Y today with 19 inch wheels. Suspension still felt harsh to me and the regen is really aggressive. The fact you can’t adjust it is a mistake. Performance on the motorway was brilliant! Very addictive acceleration. Performance version for me totally uneccessary. I like the interior but tha absence of any buttons and total reliance on the screen was annoying. Main reason for the test drive is I have an X on order and zero idea when I’m likely to get it. Not sure on the Y. Ioniq 5 drove better and was plenty fast enough. Teslas advantage is the supercharger network but I think I would actually use that maybe 3-4 times a year. Not sure that’s a reason to get what is in my opinion an inferior car.

i love this car its absolutely beautiful, regardless of the review i think is an amazing car, just go a test drive one and see if you like it. there is always something better however i appreciate this model
