I have a question is it possible to use an old macbook for xcode? Because they say you need to be on the latest version OS
for you to be able to code xcode and use it to send your app to the app store. Because xcode does not run on older systems.

While i thank you for this guide, i can't show this to my friend who is a casual first time user of Macs and don't want to see a command line, let alone executing a ruby script in vs code. He just bought a Mac from 2015 which has just updated into Mac OS 12 Monterey and he couldn't install xcode from app store.
But still, thanks for the video!

The fastest way seems to be just avoiding using damn Xcode at this point.

When downloading the Xcode update from the App Store, it usually downloads something, tries to install it, and then starts downloading something else again. I know that it takes at least an hour to install on my Mac because it has an 8th gen Intel processor and the internet is 30 Mbps down.

Great video!!! I need help from you Sir. I updated my MacBook Pro 2017 OS from Monterey to Ventura (now on 13.1) which required me to update my xCode to xCode 14 (now on 14.2) as well. However since I made the update to xCode 14.xx, my pc get stocked and restart after a while of launching the xCode 14. I cannot build iOS app anymore. Please any solution to this issue? Thanks

also if you delete old xcode before updating it seems to run faster from the app store than the in-place update

Sounds like the optimal way next time is to get it once through the portal (through the browser or aria2 or whatever), Airdrop the XIP package to all macs that need the update, do xip, then cp the package to the Applications directory.

I womder if Xcode download on multiple computers is one of the things that is helped by Content Caching. / After a brew install, a "rehash" may work instead of Terminal relaunch.

Clearly in once case you're only competing with other developers downloading while with the other you're competing with everyone trying to download stuff from Apple.
