Dan could you link this video so when you hunt this spot, we can see the results of what you found in the off season. Basically a before and after and what you learned after hunting it compared to what you thought deer movement would be. What you would do differently etc etc. I think that would really help a lot of us. Thanks for all the time you put into these vids.

Is that a spot where you and Eric can both hunt the same day at 2 different spots? That would make a great hunt if so

There are hunters (like you) that'll go into those spots, and there are hunters (like me) that say no thanks! I appreciate these types of videos though. It is a different way to hunt and I'm sure is well rewarding! I learn a lot from these videos, even on how I can apply these things to my hunting on higher, dry ground. Thank you for sharing!

Early season. Remote. Good access. Buck bed scrapes. Public. All the same factors that helped you kill your Top 12 Bucks.

That spot looks beasty!
1. Others not willing to go there.
2. Beast stand set up needed.
3. Element of surprise...1 hunt and done.

I hunt elk in a river bottom, that has tall annoying tamrisk brush/trees that make it difficult to see and walk through.

Wind swirls in large openings. -that's just confusing to me....

When I'm on the north end of this river bottom area, the wind blows to the south. So, I walk to the south end of the area and the wind seems to change, blowing to the north. Again confusing.

Some times I catch one here or there for a moment.... it's tuff but for some reason always fun.

Finding and hunting these spots, before somebody else ruins it, and while the deer are using it, is terribly difficult.

The beast channel is really the only hunting content I follow. Can't be more happy to have found you a few years ago. I love the scouting and thought that goes into hunting, it's never ending. I have to say thank you to Dan and everyone else that is part of it and the echo channel. This stuff was always in me but it took someone to unlock it and show me how deep others get with it. It's also cool because you get fresh content out like this and timely so it applies to me right now and gets me excited to go out too. This stuff I probably value over the hunt videos even. It helps because I'm in northern MN too and have a ton of edge and various swamp types and lots of land that most of the public doesn't go and we don't have a ton of public mobile hunters anyway. On the flip side we don't have AG and long winters and we get absolutely hammered with wolves so the deer density is very low, but there are still some. I scout a ton and it's so fun but I usually don't see any kind of buck sign, it's pretty rare and most of my scouting is striking out but I still sometimes find something good or at least to get excited for.
It's just funny because I scout alot of island features like that and NEVER find this kind of sign. Buts it's still fun if I find anything. I've never found a shed in my life either, I think the wolves eat those too if there even is a buck in the area. They're still a mystery to me after 30 years of hunting at our spot, this winter was tough and I could drive all over 10k acres on snowmobiles and never find one deer track, sometimes they all move out in winter if it gets too tough, not sure where they go!!
Anyway, thanks for doing this channel. I hope to buy a beast stand in the future to give something back.
