Give Luna an Ai mixing assistant to handle all the stuff hot keys is used for currently. That would destroy all of the other daws instantly.👽✌️

Your presentation of examples is superb.

The plug ins, Luna and hardware are beyond worth the price… I would pay a lot more for what they offer… they are not targeting the “bedroom producer” with the Apollo line… hence the price..plug-ins are top of the line and very accurate… Apollo has some of the best converters and preamps on the market plus the ability to use unison with no latency?… again Luna and universal audio is for professionals…. If 300 per plug in is to much you either are not professional or not serious… gear and software is not cheap you can’t have top of the line for cheap…I get sick of people acting like companies like this products are no better than the cheap stuff then saying it isn’t worth the price…. If you think it isn’t worth the price either your ears aren’t trained or your monitors and headphones are cheap… you can g]hear the difference when you know what you are doing even on cheap speakers… you want to run with the big boys… you will pay what they pay… if you aren’t willing to do that don’t bitch about the pricing and get something your broke ass can afford without whining.

Most likely...there were no effect plugins whatsoever,in the Ableton mix. Universal Audio is really pushing hard,to sell their shell game. Here's why;

Wow....a free Luna DAW with purchase? How generous(being that UA's cheapest interface is $500.) No plugin suite with Luna? No problem,as UA has got you covered(provided you drop $700 for their plugin bundle.) Want a mobile recording option? Not possible...as in order to use Luna,you need to be logged into your UA account,have an iLok dongle(or be connected to your iLok Cloud AND your UA interface MUST be tethered to the Luna DAW.) You want to use Luna on a PC? Not happening. I could spend a $100 on a Presonus interface and get Studio One Artist & have everything I need to get started. What a joke, UA is....who in their right mind, would buy this overpriced crap?

Hi Sanjay, thank for your video about Luna, but I would like to know if I can use my apollo twin mk2 only for audio input and use my Mackie big knob studio + as a monitor controller to control my speakers (I have 2 pairs of speakers) . also is it possible for me who do most of my musical creations on Maschine 2 to export them as audio files on Luna for the mix? your answer will be a valuable contribution to me. thank you

With DAW's like Ableton and Logic you get way more stuff than is even avalable with all addons for FREE! Especially logic..

All good, but I don't think its worth spending another 3 years trying to get used to the UI and ways to work fast. I'll just use it to record, XD, then export it and put it in Fl Studio.

Thanks for the demo and explanation of this! I bought the new Apollo Twin X Heritage Edition bundle, which arrived today, that includes 5 paid plugins for a reduced discount, and also of course LUNa. Sounding really good, but first I have to get used to using the plugins I have, and then maybe still use my other plugins with it too. I’m waiting for the M1 Mac update bore installing it (I’ll get the M1 Mac mini next week), but very course to see where LUNA goes.

Do you have a hackintosh in order to run LUNA or am I missing something? I ended up the the Apollo Twin USB for windows since I not crazy about mac. It's the same price, they should offer those plugs for windoze users?

Tried it since I am a Mac UA user but I'm sticking with Studio One. LUNA is missing so much that all the other top DAWs have with out so many restrictions

I purchased an Apollo Duo X a couple of weeks ago. Downloaded Luna and it sounds amazing. I put some of my old tracks in it and they sprang to life! Shape is also dope! I do hate the lack of a count -in. I thought it was just me. 😉

The concept is just like Cakewalk by bandlab which is free. Tape and preamp on every channel and buss.
Luna is the door for customer to purchase UA product more.

You mention about UNISON integration.
I had try put my electric guitar direct to audio interface and crank hardware input preamp and record it.
And i also put my guitar and NOT crank hardware input preamp but with KONSOL Analog Obsession preamp which is free.
Both sound equal and fantastic.
Unison? Come on...

I've been using Luna for about a week now, being a Logic user. I LOVE the stock sounds (they are insane), and I love the sound of it--I swear even without the summing I think this thing sounds better. Also, if you don't feel like dropping $x for their summing plugins or other plugins, just use your own! Put your own tape saturation on the mixbus or other tracks--you can use any plugins you already own (assuming compatibility). I think I'm switching for good....

I like the balanced PRO & CON review, very honest. I would like to hear the Oxide and Neve Summing individually and dual ON/OFF in LUNA itself. What I don't understand is why Oxide would sound better in LUNA than in Ableton. Did UA upgrade the Oxide in LUNA vs the DSP Plugin? They should sound exactly the same unless LUNA is coloring the mix with nothing on. I am confused on this point. Thanks for a straight up review. (I have UAD Stuff, Satellite, Apollo, lots of their plugins)

I downloaded the LUNA software but it required to link with pro tools account. Is it necessary to run along with pro tools or another DAW?

I don't get it why people should consider change from ableton to LUNA. I use all of them, create music using Logic, ableton, fl studio and master on LUNA. I don't know why but when you import sounds to luna they sounds better like in pro tools. For Mastering LUNA is more efficient.

plugin alliance is selling super cheap plugins. if you wait until the offers you can get every native version of Shadow Hills mastering comp, bx digital V3, all the SPL plugins for incredible deals. i bought a lot of plugins for 40 usd each in the leap year sale. Thats why i moved from buying plugins from UAD. their offers are still expensive. i mean, 150 usd dollars is reasonable and that would be the base price, but they don't use to do good deals like plugin alliance does. and what it kills me from UAD, is that you are chained to move with your UAD device because if not, you cant open the project.

Too expensive for the limited environment they impose to you.

I agree with you about Luna. It won't replace Logic Pro but with zero latency it makes a great live performance platform for my many AUs. I'm hoping to pick up the LUNA Extensions at a year-end sale.

Can you use VTS? Or AU? Like omnisphere or nexus?

Sanjay c your snare sounds amazing on the luna one. Literally that is such a cool way to do it. I’m a little rambly rn but fr that was cool way of mixing it and you stumble on the snare and it picks you up like a computer accuracy same velocity snare

And at some point you will have to upgrade your hardware. The same bussiness model as protools in the day- and you dont have any native plugins that come with Luna besides oxide tape . no native eq, comp... Basics ...

Cakewalk is still a giant in free DAW

The dongle era was early 2000s. UA can keep that stuff. My 12 core beast mode whatever I throw at it.

Channels like Pro Audio Files or Produce Like a Pro will give a more relevant review with LUNA becuase it seems to be more geared towards old school methods. If you are using a DAW like Abelton or FL-Studio then LUNA might not be for you.

Sanjay, excuse me if this is a noob question. Isn't all this software dependent on the audio capabilities of your computer's soundcard (or chip)? Or is sound processed through the MIDI interface along with the equipment? The reason I ask, is no matter what plugin or DAW you use, aren't you limited by your computer? Thanks, I just subscribed and have learned a lot from all your videos.

You went way too hard with the eq of the voice.

I was already invested in UAD Plugins and interface. The simplicity of Luna‘s interface and the colors in combination with the awesome sound of Neve summing convinced me to (try to) switch from Studio One

Uh....no. I'll stick with Reaper and my ears. Putting all your eggs in the UA basket is like going all in on Pro-Tools 10 years ago. No thanks.

I think that for a fair comparison you should match the levels of the two audios, louder almost always sounds better...

I need freeze track, retrospective record etc in Luna. Also it heats up my mac a lot. Plugins price is ok as soon as they keep on building and supporting their software with great quality.
