The F-22 has developed and had the 360 degree side sensors for some over 10 years or more !! A laser counter measure, it can be reflected back to its source by a simple counter measure reflective mirror one way coating and is not feasible and void !

With out usa You can not call the other jets from china or russia India 5. gen they are more 3.5 or maybe 4. because they have not stellfighter abilities and not the thechnology.

Since even our first project was so powerful and scary, America took a step back and invited us to the F35 project again. They know that if Turks enter this sector, they will do the best in a short time. They have already started to say let's give you F35. Kaan TFX is our initial project and over time its shortcomings will be corrected and it will become one of the best warplanes. No one should doubt that this plane will be superior to the F35. The engines to be used in the prototype will be F110, but there will be a transition to a higher level engine in the future.

I also dont think it’s a geniune 5th gen considering the standards include having a small radar cross section but if it can work with a drone swarm it’ll be very capable and satisfactory for the Turkish army. Turkish project has similarities with the Korean one perhaps they shouldve made a joint project

Fake f22...

If you want a true stealth fighter plane then air frame is just one part of puzzle. Engine, paint, other resources like blinding or disabling enemy radar all play a very important party and they are different system working together to keep the fighter stealthy as much as possible. Turkey is doing a great job but the level of stealth we are talking about will be achieved with this frame maybe after ten to 15yrs after it is production started. Again I think 5th gen is not the future of air power, its the drone and Turkey is one of the top player in that sector. I would like a 5th gen fighter controlling multiple advanced stealth drone in a safe distance that’s the future

It won’t be a better or smartwr plane than f35( i belive f35 is the best plane in the world)

The name of the plane is KAAN and it will make its first flight within a month when the weather is good.

Tei company is developing engines for the KAAN aircraft. TEI officials said that the design process is over..

Definetely Kaan will be better than SU-57 but behind F-35 if you consider technology of Turkish defence industry.

It's not much but it's a start. We are not making a %100 domestic production plane, but we will be one of the countries which can make a 4.5/5G plane. Eventually Turkey will be a competitive fighter jet market.

Hardly some 15% tot was done which was also not that important technologies.. do you have single crystal blades technology NO you don't even have Directionally solidified technology to make blades how come u will make a jet engine ??. Infact you don't even know what a single crystal blade is and did it took off it was going to do takeoff on 27december..
Do you have you're own fly by wire systems?? Do you have one ?NO
do you have technologies like radars absorbing coating??
Do you have distributed apperture systems??forget this do u even have IR sensors for it??

Turkey has done alot of development but it is way behind in developing a 5th generation aircraft it will take billions of dollars you're cou tires economy is already fked up by islamic economy rules .. the all recent achievement are all because of NATO's support to turkiye turkey lacks LRUs.. .
Just making a jet engine doesn't mean u will make you're own for that very high metallurgical knowledge is needed and do u think usa will give that ?? Usa is hardly giving 18-20% tot for Sweden for GE engines. and similar kind of to turkey..

I will tell you what will happen you guys will make a engine based on rolls Royce engine. In which major critical jet engine technological components will be manufactured by rolls Royce.. and assembled in turkey. Safran is not interested for Turkish engine development usa will never give more tot than rolls Royce, can't go with Russians .
Only option left is rolls Royce and turkey is at backfoot on table to bargain..
