The Ultimate Minecraft 1.20 Guide To Villager Mechanics & Breeding

I am confused, my village doesn't really work. I have beds, houses and workstations, but most of the villagers won't sleep, and most also don't go to their workstations during the day. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I am on Java Edition, and I have a question. What do the green sparkles that float up over a villagers head mean? I have two villagers that are not going to bed at night, but stand looking in the same direction every night, with green sparkles floating around their head. I am thinking about droping sand on them, so they will die without it being blamed on me!

Bro my villagers ate more than 3 stacks bread but not a single child 1 is farmer 1 is mason 1 is librarion i have put all of their work stations . First they show ❤❤ effect after 10 second they show rude effect .there are 8 beds . Plzz Tell me 1.20 in java

just a quick question abotu the gossip mechanic:
if you cure a villager and he then lowers his prices, if he then gossips with other villagers, will the other villagers then lower there prices?

Am I the only one who tries to build them nice town where they can live and talk to each other safely within wall and everything lighted being protected by me and irongolems
Instead of just putting them into a dirt hole or some inhuman machine?

All of my villagers were killed and I had to transport the villagers from two different acacia villages lol

I had noticed my villagers had some sort of schedule, but it is oddly endearing to see it laid out this way. Sadly, most of them have been killed off, possibly by me staying overnight at my skeleton farm, but I had 3 villagers trapped in case of something like that ever happening and I've just trapped my fourth villager in their farm when I realized their farmer companion also got killed. And they did have a bunch of iron golems! Alas, they weren't enough, and they were very scratched up, even with me fixing them up. Too bad, since there was a particular villager I was actively trading with to get their mastery up who died. Should've protected them better.

I definitely want to bring a couple of them with me to breed and set up my trading hall (which is still in the planning stages, though I think it would've been better to build it underground, so I might convert the woolen structure I've got as of now into something else), but I wonder if I should also try to populate the nearly deserted village and build barriers around it. I got kind of attached to visiting it on horseback, and watching this video makes me want to let them do their own thing as well.

The good thing is the village is pretty close to my base, enough that I can see a house at default render distance (though far enough that I somehow didn't notice it for like an in-game month), so the transportation is bound to be easier.

Good thing I protected those few as well, since the other nearest village is 1000 blocks away (according to a seed analyzer)... Would've given up, at that point.

nitwits and villager ai are the most frustrating mechanics asides how horribly botched the end progression was, i feel like everything made during beta 1.8 and release 1.1 had like some horrid fucking curse of being filled with incredibly unfair mechanics and time wasting progression, just renovating a village was so frustrating before 1.14 and i am still confused by the fact that transporting villagers is so hard but it gives minecarts a better use asides rollercoasters

Subtitles have a problem. All of them are at the very start of the video and none during it.

I have a bunch of stairs in my bedrock village so the villagers can easily move up large hills and mountains. I have noticed they seem to struggle with deciding to actually use them and instead try to cut around them and get lost. Is there something i can do to fix this or are my villagers just dumb?
