mhmm in my game federations never split.. They stay together for 100s of years and only grow stronger.. I dont know how to take more territories.. I literally have to face 6 factions in the Stellar Federation for that..

This would almost make more sense as a story for the Overlord trailer. Vassal contract taxes would definitely have the negative impacts on the subject's population like we see in this trailer, less so for federations. Thats not to say it isn't still great and well made, one of my favorites.

This is basically my game right now. Except instead of me leaving the federation because they pushed me, I'm leaving because I'm sick of the presidency rotating. I just want it to be my turn, forever. So for the entire game I've been playing top contributor, vassalising all the right empires and "bringing them into the fold" with no independence, conquering half of the galaxy "in the name of our great alliance"... meanwhile at home, I'm building the biggest navy the galaxy has ever seen, slowly ejecting any federation member who isn't my vassal, deliberately provoking the biggest empires, and doing everything I can to sabotage the federation to keep them just dominant enough that my other rivals can't overtake them - but no more. I fucking love Stellaris.

You know, I love how in the interstellar future people use holographic, shiny signs in protests and police still uses plastic shield, just with more lights

I am really tempted to try Stellaris, but I know myself... If I like it, i will want to get all of the various expansions and that will be the final blow for my bank account.

I love how blue guy implies most of the reason they're leaving the Federation is because their empire faced economic hardships (people starving) while the rest of the federation ignored them, but maybe they wouldn't have had such a tough time if they hadn't spent all their money on building a spaceship the size of a small country.

So is anyone at Paradox going to give us the proper statistics of the size of all these ships? They’re all insanely large but I want details!
