Yeah, Intel CPUs hold their value way too much. Even an i7-8700k is twice the cost of its AMD counterpart. While the 8700k performs a bit better than the 1700, it's not twice as good.

I got it paired with an RX 6400 and it's shit. I mean the GPU is already weak but probably the Mobo more than the the CPU makes it even weaker l.

I bought a whole used build with a gtx 970 and that same cpu for 220 usd

Except Valorant (which isn't demanding at all) these games came out around the same era of this CPU

Never get a i5 7400 if you are considering. This cpu runs at 100% usage all the time in any games with a gtx1050ti which should work good together. The amount of stutters and frame drops on this CPU is too much. Whenever something big happens it just freezes for a second or so and when you check task manager, you can see it was at 100% during the freeze. Going to upgrade it in a week and be done with this cpu

At least in the first benchmark where you test fortnite on high settings, it's not the cpu's fault, the low fps is because of the gpu. Why would a cpu be at fault for otherwise high fps but low fps when at high graphics?

I have this cpu with 16gb ram from 2017, I paired it with rx6800 recently. I need to lock all game fps at 40-60 to get smooth performance. I will upgrade my cpu in next 5-6months.

This is fastest aged cpu generation, windows has also dropped support for 7th gen. From 8th gen intel started giving 6cores in i5. Its all mess

Brother ya gotta check out the Lenovo ThinkStation S30's with the hexcore 3.5Ghz Xeon they come with a 610W PSU and if you get an In Win 101 case ALL the hardware transfers over and if you clip the plastic on the fan headers regular fans work like normal the plastic things on them is their "proprietary" oem design but remove that and it's a regular 4 pin header. Putting a 1060 or a 980TI will do great. I built like 4 of these already and each Lenovo was 150 USD and each case was 80 USD and each GPU was around 200-250 USD and if you do the math? very good price to performance. I buy machines with 16GB of DDR3 and it works perfect. As soon as I say "better than any i7 from it's generation" (a factual statement) people usually get interested. It's all about how you market these PCs. I love this channel and Tech Yes City because I believe you two have the best "budget builder" channels on YT. I have the option to try the components and I will in a few days, but I think its worth it.
Now i have a FX8350 16GB + 1660 Ti and I think its a good change for extend the rest of the components a few years 3-4

From 4th gen to 7th gen intel basically did nothing to improve the performance of its I5 processors therefore there is no difference between i5 4570 and i5 7500 paired with the same GPU and the same amount of ram, it's ridiculous that even ddr4 ram does not improve the performance of i5 7500. It's not a bad chip though it'll be a good choice for ultra low budget gaming.
