how to fix HP laptop Boot Device Not Found Error (3FO) or Hard disk not Exist error

I have an HP Spectre laptop with the same exact, intermittent problem, Boot Device Not Found. I tried Legacy mode. But that only worked sometimes. The problem was intermittent, and I thought the HD was going bad. Or, like you said, maybe the port or HD cable inside was loose or disconnected. After googling the wee hours of the night I discovered many others with the same problem. I figured it had something to do with the boot process. I downloaded and used a program called EasyUEFI and used the "Rebuild" EFI option. PROBLEM 100% SOLVED! They have a fully-functioning Trial version. But it's worth buying. They saved my laptop. It makes sense to me because UEFI is a relatively new technology. If you remember, for a while they had to use the CSM (Compatibility Support Module) as they transitioned from MBR to UEFI and Secure Boot. Also, Microsoft may be a little bit behind on the installation process as far as installing the GPT (EFI system partition). Maybe there's a glitch somewhere. My laptops Born on Date is 2019. So maybe newer laptops don't have the same problem. But if you experience this problem, give EasyUEFI a chance and rebuild your EFI partition. Worked for me.

I was running xubuntu on my omen laptop and then wanted to re-install windows 11 and get rid of xubuntu. I get no drivers found. After trying many things I deleted the hard drive. Now I have boot device not found. Is ther a way to reset it to factory default without an operating system? in the old days you just put a pin in a little hole.

Commenting this from fixed laptop with the same 3f0 issue. Removed battery and pressed power button for 20-25 seconds and laptop came back to normal startup.

Next morning (11-July-2022)same problem tried every thing but nothing worked, removed hard disk from laptop.
16-July-2022 Removed the HDD case and took out board from HDD by unscrewing 6 screws. Cleaned the connectors which were black, after cleaning connected the board to HDD. Now it is working fine.
