Solve a lock the old fashioned way after entering those in. From now on you got infinite auto locks and can skip this tedious puzzle forever. Once I got the master perk I was just done with this minigame. I value my time.

I have four extra tips, pin my comment please!

1. Save right before you enter the lock menu, if you fail you can reload and try again without losing a pick.

2. You get auto-slots pretty fast when you start picking master locks, and you need to use-em or lose-em. The optimal time to slot an auto-slot is the very first key because it will simplify all of the following layers. Typically, it will leave you with only one key to finish lock A, so after that it just becomes an expert lock.

3. Count the number of openings first, you can almost always eliminate all keys with ‘x’ number of slots. You can also cross-reference which keys appear blue for the lock you’re on. Example: if the lock has 4 openings and you have only 2s and 3s to input, then you can eliminate all the 3s. Example 2: if the lock has 7 openings, you are likely looking for a ‘4’ and a ‘3’. You can skim all the keys and if none of the 4s get highlighted blue for the lock, you need to start figuring out which 3s fight, or vice versa, if no 3s are blue you need a ‘2’ and a ‘1’.

4. You can try to generalize which keys will be used on earlier locks, typically I find that most keys only fit a few locks, and a few fit all 4 from the jump. Try to use the keys that only fit a few first, and especially try to avoid using keys with just 1 slot until you don’t have any other options.
