And what about using FLAT vs HLG profile? FLAT is noiser? Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьAre you filming in 24 fps?
ОтветитьMy HLG is greyed out, any wat to correct?
ОтветитьYou’re the best ! You show mes directly how to setup the GH5 to use the keeling LUT that’s what I was looking for.
ОтветитьLeeming LUT was a G-D life saver! There is always a lot of red in what I shoot for a living and reds tend to look like orange in HLG. Leeming LUT is a like magic wand that just makes it look so good.
ОтветитьHow does the mode 'Like 2100 HLG' on the Panasonic S5 differ from 'HLG' on the GH5? Is it rec2020 as opposed to rec709?
ОтветитьHey mate! Once I set a video mode with hlg available I can't find the hlg color profile
ОтветитьI'm new to your channel Caleb...I love your vids buddy!
ОтветитьSo basically your C4K recording mode is not even delivering the date rate of the FHD 10 bit 4:2:2 200Mbps available on this cam? So you're a resolution guy, uh? You don't understand that FHD is plenty as far as resolution and once you have it what should matter to you is to work in the best color space available to you in the cam you're holding?
ОтветитьGreat video. I have found these information for correctly exposing Panasonic GH5s VLOG-L:
Black (clip) = 7.3 IRE
Grey18% = 42 IRE
White = 61 IRE
Highlights (clip) = 80 IRE
Skin = 55-60 IRE
Which IRE levels to be used for HLG?
Doing some research right now, as in the near future we wana implement using LUTs to our event jobs and ultimately to our wedding videos. This is the third video from you today that i found trough google looking for answers, and really noone else answering these specific things you covering here, so thanks a lot. I'm really thinking about using GHalex instead of Leeming LUT, but everything you say is gold.
ОтветитьGreat video Caleb! If you shoot HLG on the Ninja V based on the Leeming LUT; do you have the LUT applied and active in the Ninja V or don't you use the LUT while recording? Thanks!
ОтветитьThere really are only a very few channels out there promoting HLG, such as your channel.
I started using HLG about eight months ago and the Content Creators I watched had misconceived superiority impression that HLG was an inferior LOG version to vLog or similar.
However it took me a long time to join the dots together to learn how to work with HLG. My biggest mistake was jacking up the saturation in post. I found this to be a schoolboy error and made my end results look garish. With HLG, less is definitely more. 😃
The only tip that I could offer is to shoot in 400mbps rather than 150mbps.
This has nothing to do with better image quality because they are both exactly the same. Its just that shooting in All-Intra at 400mbps is far more forgiving when editing in DaVinci Resolve. Once you start cutting up your footage that is shot in All-Intra, Resolve, or any other NLE software does not have to spend so much CPU power trying to recreate in the missing frames because of the high compression of H.265 codec.
Trying to edit H.265 files in Resolve will really make your computer cry out in pain trying to edit such compressed codecs. You take a hit on eating up your SD cards storage capacity by shooting in H.265 All-Intra, or even H.264 but it really speeds up your editing and rendering times. I don't have deadlines, but this has to be worth more in your production time than the cost a few extra 128Gb or larger SD cards?
But then your Ninja V with its ProRes codecs, solves all those problems. I've only been using ProRes for a couple of months but I have really found that it makes editing more of a pleasure on my computer, which is no slow-coach either.
Saying all that, I've switched to vLog after eight months and the steep learning curve of HLG.
Hi Mate, enjoy your content and have Subscribed 👍
I have only had my GH5 for a few weeks and have the 2.6 Firmware installed.
I don't get any of the Cine 4K options come up in my menu options, I'm running PAL Down under, any clues why I might not have those options?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for those input. What are the differences between V-Log and HLG, when do you prefer shooting in V-Log or HLG? Are you switching the two profiles or relying on one of them?
Keep up your good work - stay creative.
Late but fair.
ОтветитьThanks for this video, i'm still working out how to get the best out of HLG and will try this.
ОтветитьGreat video. Just a quick comment. Your dialogue audio is slightly left panned.
ОтветитьNice video. It would be interesting to see this profile (HLG) vs Natural in some tests.
ОтветитьThank you for your advices... appreciate :-)
ОтветитьGreat video and GH5 for ever !
ОтветитьHi Caleb, appreciate the video, what lens are shooting with on the GH5 in this video?
ОтветитьGood stuff. For a beginner like me, I still focus on learning the techniques and getting out there to shoot.
Any thoughts on the rumors of gh6 for Sept? I see a lot of people jumping ship to other brands because of the af and low light performance. Personally have not had issues with my Gh5 in low light and by the time they fix af I'll be ready to focus pull in Hollywood lol
You're almost at 8k man! Glad to see you're doing well 😎
