This is our humble homage to prominent scientist Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary -

Born in 1858, Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose was a polymath, biologist, physicist, innovator and also a writer of science fiction. IEEE named him as one of the pioneers of Radio sciences. From inventing the crescograph, measuring the slow growth of plants to designing radio receivers, J C Bose ingeniously contributed to the diverse areas of research, publishing one of the first papers by an Indian in western Journals.

Under authoritarian colonial rule, with sparse research funding, Bose founded one of the oldest Research Institutions in India. Bose was the first to use a semiconductor junction to detect Radio waves, as well as the first to meticulously study the response of plants to external stimuli. Being a mentor to the likes of SN Bose, Meghanad Saha, Mahala Nobis, and Sri JC Bose led to the dawn of modern Indian Sciences.
