this song is called 'meadowsweet'!

meadowsweet is a native Manitoba wildflower.

This song makes me think of all the art that is made in solitude with just one person in mind. I love the dedications in books - writing a book is such a solitary activity, to do so with one person in mind is very beautiful to me! so much art is made this way - movies, paintings, music - so much time spent creating in solitude for someone else.

to me, that's what this song is about.

I really like this song, but I have not quite figured out the best way to record it. This is the second demo I have made of the song, and I like this one better than my first try, but it's still not perfect. That's okay! That's the point of making demos.

this was recorded analog on my Tascam 388. I mostly used an SM58 with the pop filter off. M160 on the acoustic guitar. I mixed it directly off the tape machine into pro tools.
