I live in the countryside in Oregon USA and we have these same veggie/fruit/egg stands. Some sell meats (they have fridges as well as stands) too. most are self pay though most have CCTV cameras now.
ОтветитьNice! You went around Yachimata City.. I live in Yachimata, that's why it's so nice to see contents like this featuring my city! I also frequent to Trial to buy my supply. I can really attest that living here is much cheaper than Tokyo!😊
ОтветитьThanks! Made me hungry now! I’d love to come to Japan.
ОтветитьI used to BEG my mam for those shell chocolates every year. XD The seahorses were my favourite. <3
Ответитьcrunch crunch crunch crunch
ОтветитьThat crunching at the end made me laugh waaay more than it should. I love the energy you two give away. :)
ОтветитьThat silent munching outro though. xD
ОтветитьI agree with you Norm. The vast majority of potato chip flavor all amount to some degree of 'salt'. There is not a lot of variance despite the supposed flavor. Even novelty flavors tend to resemble each other a lot.
ОтветитьI see the red bucket of traditional Swedish Pepparkakor omg haha. Our very tasty gingerbread. <3 That supermarket is so cool!
ОтветитьIt is people like the sweet vegetable lady that keep my heart warm and wanting to go back again and again. So please be nice and be respectful. Let's keep Japan beautiful ❤️
ОтветитьGreat Video, the Lady selling vegetables was the best and Stroopwaffles are absolutely delicious.
Ответитьwe do the same, always hit the supermarkets in Japan. Love it!
Ответить“Who drinks this much!” I feel attacked..
ОтветитьThose boxes remind me of something we have in my home town in southern Alberta. We have a lot of greenhouse farming here and the greenhouses all set up a small unmanned shop where they put all their extra, undersize, or "ugly" vegetables and tou cam go and get your veggies dor leas than wholesale price. They will have a cash box for you to pay. You just take what you want, pay and go.
ОтветитьSams club in the USA has been this way for a while. Only you scan it with your phone
ОтветитьI think them scanning one item shows the list of items you have and how many + cost and if the price matches the cart might show the weight of the items i'm just guessing tho... that is a cool system
ОтветитьI live in Colorado in the US and many farms will have farm stands out in the rural parts of the state. We also have framer's markets on weekends, usually in the summer, where smaller farms will come into the city and sell their produce at great prices. Baked goods too!
ОтветитьYour videos make me fall in love with Japan more and more and I cant wait to move there finally.
And the 'humans will be humans' moments are an amazing thing you leave in your videos as youre painting an honest picture of the country
THEY HAVE ARLA CHEESE?! Pardon my shouting but I never expected to find that here XD
ОтветитьI lived in Aomori prefecture for 4 years and I have only been back in the US for 4 months and I want to move back so much. Seeing the grocery store brings me joy and sadness. I miss it so much. Once you live in Japan you will forever be changed.
ОтветитьShopping is already a trial, I don't want my grocery store to capitalize on that.
ОтветитьDid Sherry ever get her ice cream?
ОтветитьI've seen your videos and Sherry's videos on her channel... I definitely like you both best together. If Sherry was in every Tokyo Lens video, I would watch all of them.
ОтветитьMay I know the prices of Nori in there?
Ответитьwas any of that pre-made food refrigerated? Interesting display!
ОтветитьCREAM-OS ARE GOATED WTF BRUUUHHH
ОтветитьAs a German I often get asked about all the different kinds of sausages in German but in reality i havent seen as many types of sausages at one place than in a regular japanese supermarket
ОтветитьThe stuff you bought on that stall are going to taste so much better, I grow my own food in my garden and it beats any shop.
ОтветитьCREAM O’s ARE GOOD! Filipino best version of Oreo! (I think, maybe presto)
ОтветитьAmazon has little combinis called Amazon Go where you just take what you want and leave. No register bc they know your banking info already. No scanning bc the shelves are scales (I think).
ОтветитьI wonder what the tariffs are (if that is what it's called, idk honestly) on imported animals from Australia to Japan...maybe the cost of importing the animals is more economical than raising "enough" to feed the country by raising it in Japan with Japanese resources. After all, Australia is a bigger country, albeit with a smaller census. I do realize that it is quite a distance to import animals, but maybe there is a trade agreement between the two countries that is better than any other proposition Japan could have made with another country? All speculation of course, so if there is anyone more informative please let us know what's up :)
ОтветитьWhere exactly is this supermarket in Tokyo ?
ОтветитьSam's Club does something similar with scanning the one item at the end, though they do also scan your receipt. I'm guessing they just skip the receipt part and the item they scan just needs to match whatever code is tied to it on their end.
Ответитьwow, a thousand apologies. I just realized that i have never subscribed and have watched and "like" your videos for several years now.
ОтветитьI loved the little farm stand!
ОтветитьQuietly sitting in the car enjoying snacks is such a Japanese thing... Thank you for bringing us on your adventures throughout Japan.. Makes me miss the 7 years I lived there myself.. your content really bring back so many great memories of my time there from 98-05.. (Yokosuka and Misawa)..
ОтветитьAwesome video as always Norm and Sherry. The best part was the lady with the vegetables at the farmstand she was so nice the world needs more people like her. Thanks for letting us come along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
ОтветитьCoors light is %3.2
ОтветитьIt is cheap for American or european, but it is expensive for other east asian or SEA .
ОтветитьBacon in Aus is smoked, and you can eat it as is (in like small amounts) but cooking it is recommended.
We also have plain sponge cakes that you can buy and decorate yourself.
All alcohol - no matter what % is only sold in bottle shops.
And the Japanese yen is pretty on par with the Aussie dollar, so that box of veggies would have been approx $10AUD.
What a hell is THE BLACK THUNDER???? Well German and Japanese are very close !
ОтветитьWell those price looks cheap for anyone from USA but not for Japanese people. We dont get paid that much and now everything has gone up to the double the price recently compared to 30 years ago! But not our pay. Food in Japan was so much better and cheaper 3-5 years ago. Really just recently all of cost became exactly double! Still cheaper than other country but who know for how long????
Ответить
