All of the top five are phenomenal choices for a working musician with a tight budget! Great video!

Wow! Super great presentatiom, was easy to lusten too and informative. I own a schecter stilletto exteme and love it! Only complaints are small like battery access, lack of thumb rest (love one built into yamaha pickups), maybe knob identification but like i say very small nit picks.

I own an Aria Pro 2 and before I was ready to own a bass I got to chose a Fender P bass together so, I had the luck to play them side by side. The Aria was the best choice for tone with passive pickups and comfort. At 65 I now have arthritis, comfort is important now.

@alexwest4253 - 14.10.2022 13:51

I love my G&L Tribute and would have to rank them much higher along with Aria. While I loved Ibanez guitars back in the 80's and 90's I have never cared much for their basses. Squier has never impressed me either. I know Fender is the be all end all name in basses and guitars but even Leo said his best work was with G&L.

Schecter for the WIN!! Absoloutely love the Stiletto's body shape, finishes, playability out of the box and overall value. I'd say Schecter is the cat's pajamas.

There is something else good about Harley Benton, the reason why I am getting one: They are one of the few that offer a model with a precision pickup paired with a humbucker at a good price.

I think Yamaha is so underrated as a bass company, the range and value for money is unparalleled, I have an old RBX751 that was still in perfect tune after not playing it for 3 years, thing is an absolute rock and a tone monster. I still love my fenders but am thinking of adding more yami's to the collection.

Schecter is making a serious play for the bass market across most price points and that they increased the lines offered since you made this video (and they actually make lefties fairly regularly), watch for schecter, theyre quickly becoming the go-to for basses

And just like that... Schecters are out of stock.... :D Thanks for this video Phil! I actually just bought an Ibanez Sound Gear SR300e used and although i absolutely hate the color, its the Chared Chamagne Burst, i got it for a great deal and it was practically brand new. We'll see how it grows on me, either that or i paint it in just the dark brown tone which i do like better than the champagne tone, or maybe just strip it and stain it to a nice woodsy grain. Keep the great content coming as always!

Would love to see you review some of the different lines of Bacchus bass. The entry level Universe series starts at around $200, the Global starts at around $500 and the craft series which is made in Japan and starts at a little north of $800. These are Canadian prices so I imagine it will be slightly less for the USA. They seem to get quite a bit of love on talkbass, but would love to see a review of this brand from someone I trust.

So as far as Schecter's lowest score being features, I'm sure that's averaging all their different basses in the price point in question. But I gotta say, I got my Schecter CV-4 specifically for the features, including the tonal versatility, and it quickly became my main bass.

Ibanez makes some seriously great basses for next to nothing. I’ve played American fenders that play worse than my $600 Ibanez. I’m convinced that they’ve made a deal with the devil to make their necks absolutely perfect.

I agree with Schecter and number 1 I don't agree with a lot of the companies were they were place based on the one fact that have no offering for left handed players examples Yamaha and Jackson off the top of my head. I do think Marcus Miller should have been number 2 as the pre amp and pickups you get there there top basses are exactly same in the lower end ones and the still roll the fretboards how many companies can you say do that :)
