Can I use quarter inch to xlr into zoom h8

Mine will not work as audio interface on either mac or PC.

great video thanks. Is it possible to adjust individual channel monitoring? For instance mute a particular channel but still be recording that audio to file? You can do this in the H6 on the "monitor mix" menu but I can't seem to find much info on the H8

Got to say this is an excellent intro to an amazing recorder. Well done! How about doing one about the zoom VR ambisonic Mic capsule that can attach to the h8?

I heard battery life is about 3 hours.

Definitely not 20 hours battery life. I’ve used it on an all day recording and batteries lasted 8 hours or so.

Are you using a log profile with no color grade? Video looks very flat. But good info.

I am sure it is a great product. Ugly as the devil on a bad hair day, though. And what is that, a brand new line of mic capsules? Should have bough Zoom common stocks years ago.

Is this better than using a PC audio interface like the Focusrite Scarlett Solo for my small computer studio? I'm sorry but I'm a newbie when it comes to audio recording vocals. I'm trying to expand my knowledge and create better vocals when making music.

What's the best capsule to use for field recording?

Coming from H6 I test the H8 currently. The design is weird, but tolerable. Touchscreen good. But WHY does Zoom H8 set the SAME name for ALL recorded wav-files? They are in different folders, but I cannot copy them to one folder for editing like with the Zoom H6. I have the latest firmware, using field app. Can this be fixed? Otherwise the device has to go back; this makes no sense ...

You don't get 10 tracks. You get 10 Only if you buy separately the input addon module, which is not on available yet.

I'm using my Zoom H8 as an Audio Interface into my Mac (Logic) It works fine in Stereo Mix. However, when I use the MultiTrack mode it seems to work fine on the H8 but no signal is registering on my Mac.

This is a good product review, in my opinion. Personally, I am happy to stick with my H6 for the time being, although I wish the project mixer had eq capability.
