His sick brain can't even rationalize his fate as the evidence slaps him in the face...not even a red flag moment telling his sick brain that maybe its time for a lawyer🤔

What a bastard , what a waste of oxygen , what a waste of place that he's occupying, what a waste of money that they spend just to keep him incarcerated and fed. In my opinion, they should follow the Bible, a life for a life, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Maybe that way bastards like him think twice before they do anything

I don't know how a person could intentionally hurt someone like this especially someone who is not strong enough to defend themselves. How could you not feel like a complete piece of shit? I could not image the fear these women felt discovering this monster in their homes.

It's gotta be especially chilling for his comrades in arms, that he raped and murdered one of their own.

Marie-France was under his command for chrissakes.

Russell wanted Jessica's body to be found. He dumped it where his neighbor fishes. He was going to try to frame him for the murder. The father of the 12-year-old whose panties he stole.

'All the underwear is in the boxes do a quick look there will find them.' -yeah like the police search unit will 'quickly' look through stuff. Everything he owns is away to be thoroughly searched. Pathetic him still trying to control the situation to limit what is actually found.
Saying as well that reasons he commited these horrendous acts 'didn't really matter'. The stuff of nightmares. Total maniac.

I've seen the edited version of this so many times, but seeing this version is completely different. This is the definition of horror. Wtf. To be inside his mind from the time he walked in the room to the very end would be so fascinating.

This guy is clearly loaded and great wage so why does he use a MasterCard? I would never use a credit card for anything. They are a complete rip off. You spend $500 on it and you will owe $600. Why would you just not use your debit card?

Someone else may have noted this in the thread, but around the 17th minute, when Smyth asks what I'm hearing as a broad, general background question,
"when did you start there, at Trenton", Russell leaps straight in, ("Friday on the day I was at home,") with specific details about exactly what he was doing on the actual FRIDAY of the first murder, revealing that covering his arse for THAT DAY was at the forefront of his mind.

Surely, he was busted, right there, that early.

Everyone has their own opinion - some obviously didn't know Williams was already the only one in the frame. However, the interrogating officer rightly deserves praise, because more important than nailing Williams was the recovery of the deceased.

Historically, sex-crime murders of women and children have not always resulted in the victims being recovered, and it's clear that denying the police that information is based on complex reasoning in the accused. Often, the location of the body is withheld out of spite, out of a belief that without a body they can't be truly guilty, and because they're just warped enough to view it as something that no one can take away from them at a time when they've lost everything else.

Williams left evidence all over the place; the guy is about as smart as poured concrete. But finding the location of a murderer's victims is way more difficult, and Williams was on the verge of total disgrace and global humiliation.

Any perceived aggression or contempt from the interrogating officer could have triggered Williams to either go silent and/or, perhaps more significantly, ask for a lawyer. In the latter case, Williams' actions would then have broken the rhythm and mood of this interview, and he'd then have a lawyer present to repeatedly place legal and semantic obstacles in the path of the interviewer.

This officer deserves much credit for reaching the end of the session with a full and frank confession, locations of key incriminating evidence, victim recovery, and the prospect of a much simplified and shortened trial process.
