The first time I killed this thing was by sniping from the a higher ground with tearblast arrows. It kept getting confused as to where it was getting shot at, as the red marker shifts to yellow quickly when it can't see you directly. I managed to hit the radar off first.

Another time, I hid in the bushes. I freaked out when it came right on top. I thought it would find me in the grass, but It didn't. My running off did. 😂

I just noticed now how unrealistically the machine walks. It barely shifts its center of gravity. It would fall over in the first step lol

My tactic is ripping off the component that can find you in bushes then ripping of the disc launchers and then ripping off the component right next to the component that can find you in bushes and then use disc launchers against him sometimes it cannot just finish him so I just kill. Him with arrows

Well, just tried fighting the first one I ever came across, felt like a noob but this makes me feel better knowing I had 0 of these tools lol

healing in this game is so dog shit, have to grind for half hour to have heals for one fight

They were so scary but after you figure out the perfect tactic on how to kill them they become playthings

Playing this game on the PS5 and I’m amazed at the graphics. Movements are a little stiff in the dialogue scenes but overall looks amazing. Had to come back and see if it looked that good on PS4. Hard to believe this game is 4 years old:

What is this difficulty looks just under normal.

Bro easiest way to kill this bad boy is to lay 8 tripcaster traps, get out of the way so they dont kill you and call him, and if u in second to last or last difficulty just throw a hole lot of fire and tearblast arrows i knw it sounds like a lot but it usually takes a minute to set up and a minute to take him down

I Literally spent about 7 hrs trying to kill it with the main Bow & Arrow today (Yes , I did finally succeed )

I'm at level 32 and still afraid that someday I'll have to fight this piece of crap, but ypur video really shed some light on the matter.
So blasting it's cannons and using them I see... it hasn't occured to me, I've always been a fan of 10 tripcaster lines to do the work for me.

And who would've thought the ropecaster had any use in this game... I believe I've ditched it for shards about 25 levels ago 😂

what i did was set up blast wires everywhere before i called it, i didnt even realize that there were disc launchers.

theyre hard to fight but also really fun. by far one of the most satisfying kills i've had in this game

These aren't even hard to beat its those birds

The easiest way I know how to defeat one of these is pretty much seconds is first knocking of both disk launchers, freezing him with the slingshot and then whipping the floor with him using it's own disk launchers against it.

There's a trick that can be used to easily kill the Thunderjaw without even getting hit by him. Just go to the Sun Furrows Hunting Grounds and jump to the lower level of the hill (you can't shoot from the highest spot since it's a starting point for hunting trials). Then start shooting at the Thunderjaw located below. Use tearblast arrows to get rid of his disc launchers and cannons first and he won't be able to attack you. Even if he gets very close, there's nothing he can do from below (his only range attack left is laser sweep but it shouldn't hit you through the rocks). Just watch out for Ravagers and Watchers wandering around. Most of the time they will remain in yellow state and won't get close to you but occasionally one of them may get close enough to attack.

Lol it would have helped if you had literally anything upgraded. Like why did you not even have the Carja Ropecaster? And what you had wasn't even modded with a Handling mod.

I could beat thunderjaws in like 10 seconds because i have a banuk hunter bow that i got with bluegleam and i put on really good modifications and i can load 3 arrows on at a time. My hardpoint arrows do 203 damage. Then, when i shoot the thunder jaw with the 3 on one of the components, it does about 1600 damage per shot with 3 arrows

Well, that's certainly the way to beat them, although it's best to inflict freeze first and then hit em hard with their own disc launcher for max damage. Frozen enemies have all of their armor plating rendered null and void. Thus you'll do a LOT more damage to heavily armored foes when they are frozen.
