Best & Easiest Subwoofer Tweak Ever for Hi-fi!!

Interesting DSP with analyser. REL recommends you put your 5, 7 or 9T/i in the corner as well, in fact at 45 degrees. My 9T/i works best at 30% from a corner. Still brewing about a DSP.... Thx for the heads up.

I use one too, works great on my vintage Genesis Servo 12 subwoofer in my secondary system. In my main room system I use a DSPeaker X4 as a preamp, DAC, room correction device. They make great products.

Yes bass management is crucial to getting clean powerful base,both in home audio and pro audio. For pro audio using a minimum of a 31 band eq and and three Parametric equalizers, also being able to control phase time Domaines not just 0 and 180o. The difference between a properly processed base and one with no processing is massive, proper placement of subs and speakers is critical and should be done first.

Hard to believe that using your bass tone control on your Luxman and the cross over & gain controls on your sub wouldn't get the job done adequately.

Yeah but you can't get those anymore? Wait, you can? I have a pair of Speedwoofer MK II, right next to me near field, behind me to left and right, 3 feet off the ground. It's already very very smooth.

Rega Elex-R integrated amplifier. I have a Y splitter going dual SVS SB 1000 subs. Do I need two units. One for each sub? Also, I have been often only using one sub turning the right off and my bass is a lot overwhelming. Of course when I am alone and crank everything up I go back to the dual turning the right sub on.

When you go with a REL you really don't need to buy another devise to sound amazing...

So l have an old school two channel tube rig But my source is the Oppo BD105 and it has the RCA sub out connection So l use a RCA Y connector to connect to my two SVS Ultra 13's with the upgraded plate amps & SVS sub app Do you think it would an issue if l installed it in my setup? I haven't run REW yet but plan to soon

You've got to wonder......I spend my own money to buy this item, my time to test and review, more time to put together and edit a video, all to help people make a decision if it's right for them or not. I make no money of doing any of this. Yet somehow of the hundreds of people who have "liked" the video, there are three people who are unhappy enough with their life to hit the thumbs down. Makes you wonder how sad their lives must be..... Thankfully our analytics software tells us who those people are so it's not anonymous.

so they don't even talk about this product anymore over at avs or asr forums. they all say minidsp is the way to go. they must not like it for some reason. i remember hearing about the 8033 years ago. so this v2 is newer??

I'm 50 years old and built my first set of speakers for my 12th birthday. I've been obsessed with sound since I was a kid and I've learned it's pretty simple. Your main speakers should NOT share any of the same sub or bass frequencies your subwoofer puts out. If they do you're going to get boomy hot spots and it's going to be difficult to control. It really is down to the word you kept using which is integration. It should be seamless.

Excellent review. I have deliberately held off buying a subwoofer until a "proper" integration component was available. This one might tip me over the edge.

For those with two subs like myself, here is what the manual says...

2.6. Multiple Subwoofers
Having multiple subwoofers reproducing the same signal (dual mono) will result in a smoother response in general. Anti-Mode 8033 can be used with any number of subs and allows you to use corner placement for the subs. Connect the Anti-Mode unit to the signal going into each sub, and calibrate them together. When calibrated together, the nulls created by one sub are filled in by the other sub. Anti-ModeTM calibration takes this into account, creating a smoother overall response than if the subs were calibrated separately using multiple Anti-Mode units.

If you want to reproduce low frequencies in stereo, you need either two Anti-Mode 8033's or one Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core. Stereo at low frequencies is generally not needed, because low frequencies are omnidirectional and predominantly mixed in mono. Any directional cues are determined from harmonics and other aural information. It is usually better to use the dual mono arrangement instead of stereo to get a more even response.

Looks like all I/we need is one unit to match and blend a dual sub configuration.

Where did you purchase your unit? I followed your link, and it said it can only accept Euros? I am sure it will make the currency exchange properly, just curious.

you can do all of that in the box if you use Lyngdorf TDAI 1120 or 3400 amplifiers

The REL high level setup is really annoying and I could never be sure the subs are integrated using there method. I ordered this unit and looking forward to switching to the low level via my preamp outs on my integrated amp. One question, the REL's crossover can't be turned off...what level should I put it at during the calibration?
