you couldn't hit a little harder? mid battle and under adrenaline, you would be swinging like ur life depended on it
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention that its a solid mace shaft
ОтветитьLets be honest, with the Gothic Mace you're not aiming for the chest, you're going straight for head shots and killing him in 1 hit.
ОтветитьMagic Maces weigh whatever the magic decides they weigh. 😉
ОтветитьYa know one thing I never thought about was how mail might actually make a mace hit WORSE if it has spikes like any of the maces on the table, due to the fact the mail would grip the spikes of the mace and help in the transfer of energy into the person. Vs a gambeson I don’t thing would grip quite as much as the mail did. Obviously the spikes help the mace grip armor but I think a hit on mail+gambeson would be worse than just a gambeson due to the grip change.
ОтветитьWhat is the girth of the shaft?
ОтветитьDid you not see him wield that thing? Dont think he needed more speed
ОтветитьA strong man hitting the helmet side or face will have effect on the fight rhytm of a knight. Several hits banging in rapid succession...
Ответитьouch. quit tickling me.😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьI really wouldn’t be surprised if you could break a rib even if the guy was in plate. You could rupture organs too. Blunt weapons are scarier than pointed weapons in my opinion.
The scariest weapon was infection.
Love the video todd.
But get a new hat mate.
I have always been fascinated by maces. I was absolutely thrilled to watch Brian Blessed swinging one as Exeter in Kenneth Branagh's 'Henry V.'
ОтветитьImagine having this in your car when the police pull you over. That would be an interesting conversation, wouldn't it ?
ОтветитьLike to see how a horsemen's Warhammer with a Back spike or Warpick vs armour. I used a peace of 3/4 of a inch bar stock with 4 blades mace head years ago put it on a chain punch into a 205L steel Drum like a hot knife.
ОтветитьTod swings like a little girl . 😅
Ответитьlets call this thing "the egg cracker" 😄
ОтветитьMace is a nobleman's weapon, presumably to be used on horseback and often striking down to unmounted men ... where you would not be hitting the breastplate.
ОтветитьTod, wouldn't you make this with a heat expansion fit around the collar, the rest would be cold, then you wouldn't need to do the tack weld.
ОтветитьI heard that the points on a mace also help to keep it from deflecting off armor. Seems plausible.
A mace against mail always makes me think of using a kitchen tenderizer to pound cutlets flat. You really don't want to be a bag full of meat and get hit with one of these.
damn how does your hoodie and clothes get so mangled, do you let others swing that mace at you for practice lol
ОтветитьYo, do this test with a ballistic dummy underneath.
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful weapon.
ОтветитьThat thing scarry me more then a gun!
Ответить"Hold on."
Thunk
Every single one of those hits would have a man’s ribs broken…. I don’t care what anyone says… you may have armor but that mace would hurt and 3-5 hits from that mace that armor is only hiding the internal damage hahaha
ОтветитьQuite the Nutcracker.
ОтветитьDon't forget, those maces may not have damaged the padded nor chain armor, but that guys ribs and breastbone are shattered.
ОтветитьNah your missing something. Hammerheads also often have Spikes. When your hitting a rounded surface with a flat or a round surface it can defekt. So with spikes, even if it rotates after deflection the spikes "bite"into the material therefor the force remains guided in the intended Target not beeing deflected.
ОтветитьI still prefer a 2 handed mace
ОтветитьTod, can we buy you a new hoody please? Yours looks like its about to fall apart while you're wearing it. 😄
ОтветитьAmazing Thanks !
ОтветитьThat's pretty cool, as an American I always tote a piece, usually a Smith and Wesson but I collect knives, I'll have to checkout some of these blades you make.
ОтветитьTod’s hoodie looks like it has many stories to tell.
ОтветитьAnd this is why I love Battle Brothers. 🤣
Ответитьcorrect me if I'm wrong BUT wouldn't be the concussion the point of such weapons? as in: the gambeson might've been unpunctured - but how would the ribcage look like, afterwards?
ОтветитьI think it’s the best zombie weapon.
ОтветитьThat has to be the best advertisement video.
Ответитьdont what to tell you how to use a mace, but its much more useful on a helm!
ОтветитьIn this armor configuration, when using the mace, Todd should aim at: the head, arms, thighs and pelvis. Hitting the center makes no sense because it is the best protected and easiest place to armor.
A broken head or concussion eliminates you from the fight. A fracture of the long bones in the arms or legs deprives the opponent of the ability to fight and move. The broken pelvis completely prevents movement.
Thats alot of talk for someone within the All Seeing Eye distance.
ОтветитьThis is much more entertaining than Warcraft or LOTR.
Ответить🌴praise God 🐕 thank you Jesus Christ for being our savior 🚬
Ответить"Still straight, still hard, still what it's meant to be!"
Ответитьbyzantine cataphrats used maces as a cavalry weapon
Ответитьmace hit to a helmet would be effective-knock you right out
ОтветитьSubdural Hematoma
ОтветитьThe thing is if at the time they were common, it means they must have been an effective weapon. No one is going into a battle of any kind with a shonky weapon, are they? It wasn't just theory but their lives on the line. Maybe we don't know who were the main users of this weapon or when it was used most.
ОтветитьSauron, the Mayar who's single most defining feature was that he was one of the greatest smiths to ever exist, yeah, that's a guy to take on.
Ответитьconcentrated force is usually called pressure. Quite interesting that the gun had already been invented and people were still running around with metal sticks in the late 15th century
