I was seven years old when this song came out, and I thought this was the coolest sounding song i ever heard! I decided to check out his album a few years back, and it was just as groovybsnd brilliant!! It should have been a career making album for Eric! Nashville, you missed the boat with this cat!

I LOVE the original of this song amd when i saw this come up i was rather suprised anyone did a cover of it! Also this is actually a really good cover of the song.. and i am so happy they stayed true to the original version of it without changing it up or trhing to add some new rap or hip hop verse to it or anything else, so i love that it is still recognizable and they pretty much kept it as it was.. This original song brings back so many memories of when i was a kid lol and i get such a huge wave of nostalgia each time i hear it.. as a kid (way back in the early 80s lol) my brother and cousins as well as my parents amd aunt and uncle would go to out cabin every weekend in the summers and for our 4 hour trip us kids got to make little beds with blankets or use sleeping bag to get comfy for the 4 hour ride.. remember this is way back so do NOT do this-but us kids made those beds in the back of my dads pick up truck.. lol it had a cover on it, not the flat kind everyone has now days on theor pick up trucks but one of those that had the top.of the cover be the same height as the cab of the truck, and had a lottle window between the trucks cab amd the truck bed cover thing so we could hear our parents up front.. well we also had our own boombox ba k there with snacks and drinks and blankets.. we always left late late at night like around modnoght because at the time my dad and uncle worked 2nd shift and we would go when they got off of work.. well in our boombox we had there was our mixtape of the "up north road trip songs" lol and this so gs original was on it as well as other oldie classics that arnt heard anymore, some of the other classic oldie so gs in the mix tape were: The Battle of New Orleans, Rign of Fire-because NO classic oldie mix tape is ever complete without some Johnny Cash songs on it!-- Big John, El Paso, Davie Crockett-lol we were kids so, you know it was a fun song lol!, and many other oldie great songs.. my dad still has the tape but we cant find a worming tape deck.. i would LOVE to hear it so i can remember ALL the songs.. i do remember quite a few but not all of them, and I would really love to remember them all and make a new little digital playlist for when we go on trips with my kids to the same cabin in the northern Wisconsin forests. My dad is making some progress with finding a worming tape player but none found yet.. we wouldn't just buy anything 2nd hand online unless we have actually seen the product ourselves... scams happen ALL the time.. so it takes time to check them all out and decode to buy or not.. sorry. Off topic and long comment.. i love this song and think this is a very good cover of the song!
