No matter how one views it, the diamond industry is one of the biggest cons in world history !!! 😐
ОтветитьOguyris
Ответить8 pages of resale ( unsold) diamonds on the real real. All the in house jewelers I know can get deep discounts since the prices are plummeting. Most independents can pass those on to customers. There is zero shortage of lab grown diamonds.
ОтветитьHave you ever heard of Gemone diamonds? They claim to sell natural diamonds in beaded necklaces.
ОтветитьLab grown diamonds all the way I don’t plan on selling my jewelry. I just want big sparkly beautiful diamonds. You don’t get very much for reselling your diamonds so lab all the way.
ОтветитьThey're not mentioning this, but lab diamonds could change color and lose sparkle over time, especially when you have your ring resized or cleaned and polished. It would degrade in color and sparkle, unlike natural diamonds. Reason is that lab grown diamonds are mostly treated.
ОтветитьYour name is Osiris… And you’re sexy af. Wow.
ОтветитьNot a damn thing I don’t love about my 2.5 carat round lab diamond - went into James Allen and they were bowled over by it - save your money and go with a lab diamond.
ОтветитьIf you wait a few months, the price will be less. The price of synthetic diamonds has been falling continuously since they started to appear on the market. Eventually you will be able to buy them for a few dollars, same as with synthetic emeralds and rubies.
The other thing I hate is that they're not grown in labs by scientists, but in filthy factories in China and Russia using low paid, under-skilled labour.
Few things give a worse signal when starting a permanent relationship than a gift which is a substitute for something else. If you want something affordable, why not buy a morganite or some other natural coloured stone which are inexpensive but consistently rising in value and will also have a much higher resale value if hard times come.
Yes I like nature diamond u think just like I'm thank u❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI remember you first video I told you the lab growing diamond 💎 are a big scam look how much the lose value people can buy 1.5 carat for 700 dollars 1 stone 1.5 CT this is the biggest scam
ОтветитьSuch a deal!
ОтветитьHello Osiris! I’m a retailer jeweler/gemologist with 40 years experience in my family’s business here in Philadelphia. I’ve been a believer in LGD’s since my beginning of studying them and the market back in 2015/2016. I jumped into that pool in the summer of 2017 and haven’t looked back! LGD’s have been a category leader in my business ever since and there’s nothing greater than seeing the sense of enjoyment and happiness in a customer’s face when they see how much of a beautiful, affordable and BIG diamond they can get for their hard-earned dollar.
I’m unique in that unlike most brick and mortar retailers, I educate customers FIRST (at least I attempt to with most customers as surprisingly some simply don’t have the patience or capacity to hear any type of honest speak!) and I always point out the value differences and SIMILAR percentage of loss between natural and LGD.
Listening to you speak about LGD’s is as if you took a page or two out of my well-oiled playbook!
You’re spot-on sir, and I commend you on spreading the word about LGD’s. There is one point however, in which you and I differ and that has to do with recommending the best place to buy being online.
As a brick and mortar retailer, one would expect me to recommend people buy from a physical store from a knowledgeable and honest jeweler/gemologist. LGD’s sold by online retailers/dealers allow for them to salt their inventory with what I refer to as “Mis-Grown” which are LGD’s that just aren’t right. These are LGD’s that SHOULD be merchandised/advertised as “Factory Seconds”, but sadly they are not. And most online seller of diamonds simply don't know the product well enough.
Examples of mis-grown LGD’s include stones that have what's called internal “Strain”, nitrogen-induced brownish hues in E/F graded/certified stones, and stones that are graded as D to G, but have the tell-tale “Overblue” hue caused by an imbalance of boron, which is almost never occurring in natural stones. The IGI lab used to report on this in the comments section of their reports back in 2019/2020, but for no apparent or searchable reason, they’ve stopped reporting on that, which in my opinion is misleading to dealers AND consumers.
Mis-grown LGD’s trade at significant discounts which is why some online dealers use them as loss-leading offerings on their websites. A simple search will show the wide range of prices for seemingly the “Same” shape/ct wt/color/clarity LGD, but with no explanation. This is true more than not. Some sellers of LGD’s online sell fine LGD’s for competitive prices, but most including the biggest (James Allen, Brilliant Earth) do not.
So to summarize this very long post, I like your perspective and what you’re doing to educate the consumer. And by the way, a name doesn’t get more cool than “Osiris!”
It took me a moment to wrap My mind around lab diamonds until someone put it to me like this;
Would I call My child born through IVF less of a child because he was made in a glass? 😳
I was shocked at that explanation but immediately understood it.
A Diamond is a Diamond.
LAB diamonds are much better than BLOOD diamonds!!!
ОтветитьMy man i was offered $5300 just for the diamond in my wifes ring down in Bogota at a small jewelry store. CASH. The ring and setting cost $7600. The diamond alone i paid $5100
ОтветитьCostume jewelry doesn’t last that’s why it’s costume and cheap this is a different scenario, lab is tangibly the same that’s the point imo lab isn’t cheap enough lol
ОтветитьThe downsides to lab are what people create in their minds which we know comes from ignorance lol
ОтветитьIf you are an actual jewelry diamond lover who cares about quality and perfection lab is the winner only way I can put natural above lab is when it’s a huge IF diamond like over 10carats etc
ОтветитьI don’t think lab diamonds are 100% ethical. I also don’t think that all natural diamonds are blood diamonds.
ОтветитьI love how calmly you speak. It really helps drive your point. Great video‼️
ОтветитьIt doesnt matter that lab diamonds devalue. A real
Diamond devalued for resale loses more in value than the lab grown one. Might as well get the lab one.
Best Channel if anyone wants to learn anything about Diamonds. I have seen most of your videos. I am from India & I wish I could have bought my lab diamonds from you. When i started I knew nothing about Diamonds or lab Diamonds, just had that perception that lab diamonds are artificial diamonds . Its been quite a revelation that both are real diamonds only , only the place of origin differs. Thankyou for the education on diamonds. You are a dong a brilliant Job by putting out these really clear, crisp & comprehensive videos.
P.S. I had one question. If the lab & naturally grown diamonds are just the same chemically & optically. How is that jewellers can still identify with the use of machines which one is lab grown & which is naturally grown, when they are the exact same , differentiation shouldn't be possible, right? So there has to be something different in both type of diamonds, can you please tell what is that ?
1. Resale - i dont plan on selling it
2. Establishment - i dont care what people think
3. Perception - i still dont care what people think
4. Availability - I’m not afraid to buy online
5. Confusion - my partner isn’t an idiot and this channel is informative
Basically there are no cons
You rock! Thanks for your assistance.
ОтветитьI love my natural diamond. No hate on the lab but if you set both diamonds side by side, I and everyone I know would go for natural. Why is this even a question 😂😂. If you could afford 2k natural diamond without YOUR perception of spending too much, you WOULD so it could go both ways. Stop playing.
ОтветитьWho cares. Sounds like bunch of excuses for natural diamond sellers. It's about time that diamonds should price according to supply & demand. Like most other goods.
ОтветитьFor 95% of the dudes LD's are great. Start with a high quality 2ct. or larger. Say F VVS Ideal. She shouldn't want anything bigger or better. If she tries to pawn it, It's because she doesn't love you anymore and she won't get sh*t for it. 😂 lol... Win win
ОтветитьI am GIA certified as well but I LOVE lab diamonds.
ОтветитьLab created Diamonds will never be the same as natural diamonds. I don't like man-made stones
ОтветитьWhy is this person talking about jewelry like it's an investment 😂😂
ОтветитьIn the very beginning - around 1900 - there was resistance to cultured pearls and only "natural" or "wild" pearls were considered real. History repeats.
ОтветитьI like lab diamonds because 1 diamonds aren’t that rear and lab it’s the same diamonds 2 I don’t support the diamond trade
ОтветитьHow I get one of those boxes
ОтветитьIf natural diamonds are 4-10X usually then losing 100% vs 50% you still come out waaaaaay ahead.
ОтветитьLab diamonds DO hurt the environment, albeit far less than mining for diamonds.
ОтветитьThe resale argument is so silly. You can get very high quality lab diamond at 2 cts for under 3k. That same natural stone cost $20k more at a minimum. Invest that extra 17k and in 20 years you will can earn way more than any diamond will appreciate.
Honestly a 3k stone isn’t an investment, but who really cares? We are talking about a few grand here. Literally 15 dinners out at a restaurant. Cmon
If you are given two diamonds, one lab and other mined can you diffrenciate?
ОтветитьThis might sound crazy but my issue w labgrown diamonds is that it looks nicer.. maybe even shine brighter. It has less imperfections. In a way, the real diamonds look more real because of their imperfections versus lab grown always looks perfect.. but I don't know. I still am not fully decided about this topic..
ОтветитьI plan to buy a 4 carat ring and affordability isn’t an issue but I still want value for my buck. So if both depreciate then why should I buy the real natural one.
Just wanted clarity on that.
sorry homie but its carbon
all that matters is gold and platinum
Natural does not have a good resale value. U only get back between 5 percent to 10 percent of what u spent and 10 percent being the highest and usually u have to argue a jeweler down who is willing to be nice and bend to give it. Its not worth it. I have 2 Natural diamond tennis bracelets and my Natural diamond bezel on my presidential rolex, my rolex is the only thing high in value. So example if u spend 6k on a Natural diamond engagement ring maybe at a couple of carats u will only fer about $350 if that back and thats on the low end! Thats why u see so many ppl tryna resale their diamond jewelry on Facebook market or Craigslist or offer up cuz they know they cant get their money's worth in a store! So lab diamond me please, they are still real diamonds just different how their made
ОтветитьMined diamonds are evil and immoral. If you like children in slavery, buy a mined diamond.
ОтветитьWell I was looking to get my wife a 2.5 carat lab for around 3000 I rather loose 2500 on the lab than buying natural for 15000 or more and loose 7k if I need to sell it …
ОтветитьWhat about moissanite?
Ответитьbuy lab, it's much cheaper... it cost even less than the loss of value in natural diamond. the cost is still cheaper. Diamond is forever.. once you buy it, you will stuck with it until ... maybe forever.
ОтветитьWho buy a cheap but beautiful lab diamond and think about resell them. It’s a life time piece. Your video is very nonsense. The fact that lab diamond came out is the best thing that ever happened in life. One carat lab $1000 vs $10.000 Natural.
ОтветитьWhat online store would you recommend to buy a lab diamond?
ОтветитьThe first ring I had made for my wife has a 1 carat lab diamond in 14K gold. I had to explain to her that it's a real diamond. Because it is. It's 100% real, it's just not a natural diamond. The only way a person can tell the difference between a lab and natural diamond is by reading the serial number. She gets compliments all the time. This year I bought a 2.3 carat lab diamond G color, VVS 2, Ideal cut, Excellent polish/sym, and it's in platinum. I think she'll love this one more.
Ответитьif a lab diamond is the same as a natural diamond is every respect and even jewelers needs a specialized machine to determine if a diamond is lab or earth why the poor resale value
Ответить
