Tips from video that I could gather: consider monotone furniture with a loud rug, consider mixing in vintage pieces of good quality that have character, be willing to make mistakes and change things out, choose livable items that can handle damage, mixing many different styles can work - traditional, modern, contemporary can mix but not always, grey is soothing

I have a small house old I am changed my countertop and backsplash hood and sink faucet and kitchen color but not the orange oak cabinets it's not in my budget right now my cabinet is orange oak color real wood and my floor is also the same color as cabinet and real wood so I already put the black quartz countertop with a white thick little line in it and I chose the backsplash white glass mosaic tile and little grey line in there same style as countertop I will remove the cabinet over my hood and I m putting modern style hood so right now I have off white walls I am thinking for pure white for the ceiling and the same color for the walls can you please give advice I like to see my house contemporary style but my house is 100 years old single-family house. I appreciate your work and love your work I really wish you suggest me please I forget to mention my ceiling is also very low 7 feet high only I have a ceiling with beams please help me with what paint color for the wall and ceiling I can choose tomorrow I have to buy paint

I tried to design my own apartment, but it was just too interior designers are better than me, designing is harder than nuclear physics.

I love all the wood work and chippy paint..shows perfectly painted woodwork with not original charm being all white in the living spaces it all disappeared! She is so fake with her little laugh and she ruined a good old home

"I typically don't do" another reason why it's a waste to pay for a decorator. It's just another headache and losing your own personal oasis.

I don't see how a guy could feel genuinely comfortable there. It's just too cutsie and delicate in every room. I expect Marilyn Monroe or ZSA ZSA Gabor would trick out their homes in that style. And where's the poodle? Instead of concentrating only on combining new with old she could have added to the mix combining the masculine with the feminine. But the hubby approved and there endeth the tale.

Loved the overall effect, and her fondness for light gray is exactly the element of continuity running throughout the housel My real pet peeve is the bright brass fixtures in the kitchen--I think the warm soft gray tones of brushed nickel--or for some sparkle, polished nickel or chrome would have looked just as vintage and actually worked with the palette better. And yes, she's gonna regret having children & white furniture.

For over a year, I have Googled, You Tubed and Pinterest'ed to no end trying to find decor inspiration for my home. Nothing has grabbed hold of me...tapped me on the shoulder, made me give a double-take but that's about it. Getting ready for bed and thought, let's browse one more time.
I searched modern traditional home decor..NEVER even thought of putting those 2 words together but I'm SO GLAD I did. Your video pops up.
