T-14s are not used by Russia for the simple reason - the tank is still basically a prototype that hasn't entered a mass production. There were only 20 vehicles manufactured as of 2022 and after the war started Russians switched to making the cheaper T-90s and upgrading the existing T-72s. However why are the perfectly available and already supplied to Ukraine Challenger 2s not used and the British MoD specifically asked Ukrainians not to use them "on risky missions" is another question. So the pun coming specifically from the British journalist is actually quite hilarious.

That same drones are frying up Abrams and leopard tanks in the fields of Ukraine. So why blame the opponent for sparing new shiny armatas? Your arguments are shallow ...

Why is the West always hiding behind Ukraine . For every success they make ooh its because of the Western military kit and NATO training they have received. At that point NATO and the west is winning . For every loss they make its because of their soviet era thinking and application of war. The answer to why the Armata tank is not being sent into service is the same reason why at least half of the Leopard 2 tanks have been destroyed, and why Abrams tanks are starting to suffer the same fate. It's so bad for tanks that the British told the Ukrainians not to send the Challengers to the front line. Western leaders have the Wunderwaffen mentality, and look what happened to Uncle Adolf after he had the same notion.

Were tanks ever what they were still supposed to be up until this war? If not fancy tanks are not a good use of resources. Air superiority has certainly been altered beyond all recognition by the advent of the plethora of drones on and behind the battlefield . The Russian advances are basically led by and always consolidated by infantry, which are suffering terribly from little FPV drones hunting them even inside trenches and buildings. Usually when the Russians gain territory there are no houses with roofs on or intact fortifications because everything has been demolished by the Russian artillery. The short answer to the question is that a lot of Russians are being killed in these advances. However they are not staging a full mobilization so the Kremlin are accepting the losses and seem confident they can be sustained.

This is war of attrition.. attacking army will lose more.. putin dont want that... he want to wear out Ukraine army and want ukraine army to counter attack them and lose more..
