Ranking Every Souls Boss (Except Elden Ring) [Spoilers for DeS - ER]

Honestly, I don't really mind the DS2 gargoyles, in fact, in some ways I like them MORE than the DS1 version

I’m surprised Bed of Chaos is last. It’s a garbage boss for sure. But I definitely think there are worse bosses

If you are going to rank the Elden ring bosses at somepoint here is a tip. Elden ring is not ds4 the Dark souls 3 methods like waiting for combos to end to attack and roll spaming do not work in Elden ring. You are meant to attack the bosses in the middle of their combos and during delayed attacks and your meant to dodge in a similar way to Bloodborne with fewer and directional dodges being the most effective to dodge attacks.

40 minutes in and a good list so far, but you put celestial emissary AHEAD of living failiures? Living failiures isn't great but the soundtrack, the lore, the arena, the movesets and the whole way you fight and zone one from the other is far better than anything from celestial emissary imo.

Never thought I will fell in love with the souls games like you did, but I have to admit that these are the most beautiful games I ever played

For anyone who is needy, bored, and likes statistics, I decided to show what the average placement was for a boss from each game. Here are my results (rounded up to the nearest whole number).

6. Dark Souls 2 (Average Placement: 98)

This one is self-explanatory. Quantity is good, but quality should always be prioritized in a game like this.

5. Bloodborne (Average Placement: 80)

This one really surprised me, though it does make sense in retrospect. For nearly every Gascoigne, Logarius, Orphan, and Maria, there is likely a Micolash, Witch of Hemwick, or Rom to balance it out.

4. Dark Souls 1 (Average Placement: 77)

Artorias, Ornstein and Smough carried HARD

3. Demon's Souls (Average Placement: 74)

I knew Demon's Souls the least out of every game before seeing this video. Overall, it has one of the boss lineups of all time.

2. Sekiro (Average Placement: 61)

There really was no standout "bad" encounter in this game. The worst bosses were only slightly below average and then there were bosses like Emma, Owl, and Isshin.

1. Dark Souls 3 (Average Placement: 33)

Yeah, adds up.


TL:DR: DS 3 is the ultimate Souls experience, DS 2 is still the odd one out, and FUCK the Frigid Outskirts.

This was really nice to listen to while at my job. Perfect length for the day, and I seriously appreciated the lore.
Ive never really considered playing the dark souls franchise, but I definitely feel like it now.

I just love the beginning atmosphere of pontiff, he waits for you first as the music is slowly starting, then he begins to walk slowly towards you, he's tall, he got two swords, and he's menacing ... Should be intrusting right ? Then his two blades ignite themselve with fire and magic ... And like what i assume to be a large portion of the players. I just told myself " wait I am fucked ".

even though he's clearly not a hard boss, his fight will always be in my heart for how scared shitless i was of him after killing him the first time :D

Seeing all the bosses here and mostly agreeing on your takes was a awesome experience. Are you using the secret shortcut in the elevator, the one that teleports you to the bell maiden in front of the ladder? Because I myself don't consider that a bad runback at all, it takes less than two minutes from lantern to fog gate.
