Band 8.5 IELTS Practice Speaking Exam (mock test) - with teacher feedback - Saskia from Sri Lanka

I've recently got my IELTS results. I'm baffled that I only got a generic 6.5 in speaking. I expected a 7.5 to 8 because I believe that I did pretty good. Definitely not a 6.5

She's using personal pronouns like "you", "you're" and also "we" a lot. I was told by my teacher that we should avoid using these words and we have to ignore the examiner as an entity and just focus on ourselves. I think I'm being taught wrong because by using such pronouns, one can make their answers more interactive and considerable. If anyone could provide me some guidance on these topic, I'd really appreciate it!

one of the finest speaking test i have ever seen

Just finished my IELTS exams. I think I'll get L 9, R 6.5 , W 6, S- 7.5 . I think I did really well in L and S but reading I fluffed it. Took me 25 m to do both sec 1 and 2 and did not write two summary completion answer. And had to run through section 3 with only 10m and guess a lot. My reading speed is so slow and I lost some concentration tbh. I followed the 1 strategy method but my reading speed failed me. . In W my part 2 is worth a 7 I'll say but part 1 was quite short . And few important information is not included, because I rushed it at the end with only 15 ish min. Anyway, only had few days to prepare. Hopefully I'll be wrong with my predictions in a good way and get better score 😅. Thanks to Chris for the video on listening tips. Signposts really helped today.

Our teachers say that using "you know" or 'you' can lower our score.. Speaking is formal so we should not use informal word like you.. Should we use it or not.

Blue Steel is a reference to Zoolander. It is kinda similar to duck lips. Another definition (again referencing Zoolander) is something along the lines of a look done looking in the mirror thinking it makes you look good, but makes you look as though you are posing.
