Why are so many of you blaming the children? There isn't even enough information in this report to accuse them of anything. You ASSUME they did something wrong and assert they deserved to be held on a hot bus for almost an hour with their parents right outside. The parents were denied access to their own children.

I understand that it's hard to drive a bus full of howling kids everyday, but they are all under 12y/o, and the adult is supposed to set a good example, not torture them. Torture is not discipline. And it's certainly not fair to the well-behaved kids.

Bus drivers are not saints. They can be childish too and abuse their power. These days, children seem more mature than their authority figures.

All over a cell phone? Either there is more missing from this story than I thought or the bus driver was being petty and childish. There are a lot of petty, bitter, power-hungry adults in the school system, especially these days.

the bus driver was my 2nd grade to 5th grade bus driver I saw the face of the driver that was not a substitute it was the original driver thank god I graduated this school before it happened I'm now a 6th grader she was really hateful to me and my autistic brother and he is semi verbal and wont understand what someone is saying or understanding the situation she snatched my phone and really hurt my arm in the process of doing that which resulted in me calling the police on her and her bus aid we called the police 3 times on her for her actions and obviously she did not learn her lesson for how she should be treating 7-10 year olds and the fact that the school was Pleasant Hill ELEMENTARY school made my stomach go upside down and watching this video hurt my heart.

There was audio recorded by a child hiding their phone. The bus was quiet. The driver was power tripping because she told one of the kids not to call their mom and they did and she wouldnt give the driver her phone. Thats what caused this not bad children but a shitty adult power tripping on some elementary school kids

It would be one thing to do this with high schoolers but there were kindergartners on this bus, you don’t keep 5 years olds hostage because some kid won’t hand their phone over. You report it to their principal, and they will take the proper disciplinary actions. This driver should be fired and maybe even charged with endangering these kids, and if it was all for the sake of “policy” then whoever owns that policy should be held accountable.

She got a leave of absence? That's it? I've had bus driver's fired for endangering my children and the other children on the bus. One of the bus driver's I got fired was driving drunk. He surely didn't get a leave of absence. I'm not a "Karen"by far, but you don't mess with my kids. I hope everyone of those parents goes after her. That was BS.

They threatened the driver .
The driver was waiting on backup & they were 7 min away & she didn’t hv that time . They were touching federal property .
The driver never has to talk to strangers bc a parent not at a drop off point is unknown. They send their kids out to ride a bus.

What if that bus had bn broke down?
The driver calls the bus shop & ALL kids are transporting to another bus .
It took 1 irrational mom to cause this ..

Some don't understand what dealing with kids means. Good drivers have to protect everyone even they are sometimes being abused by kids, company, and school for lower pay.

As a bus driver I had this situation with a small bus. One of the kids starts screaming out of the blue and constantly hits the window. These behaviours affect other kids and some kids started crying/fighting. Kids call each other names or use false language that should not be used in front of younger audiences. We have tk prevent or stop the bus. Some cases we have to call the parents tk pick the kid up. Another kid is so verbal and talks to me or tries to play with the distracting kid even the student was not making a noise for a while. Drivers need to focus on the blizzard or new construction or other aggressive drivers.. Something everyday.. Many drivers phonk against school bus running at the regulated speed.

Then the teachers decided to give a tablet to the problemed student. Guess what happened?? Other kids with no issues started complaining and acting out due to jealousy. It took me a week to stop the school from giving her a tablet.

Bunch of wild animals and the parents are encouraging their shit behavior.

I feel sorry for the bus driver 😢

This is wrong. One kid had a phone and refused to give it up. She held the entire bus up, even little children in kindergarten, on a hot bus because she was mad at this ONE child. Write up a report..., but don't hold all these kids hostage over your need to be an authoritarian. Be the ADULT.

That's called kidnapping. It's a rather serious felony and now the driver faces dozens of counts of felony kidnapping. It's also that many counts of false imprisonment and child endangerment. And if she said anything about harming them It's a terrorist threat in conjunction with other felonies. If she's convicted for half of this, she'll die in prison.

This is why you use protection. 😂 Avoid all these mishaps of having kids. Save yourself and others this chaotic mess. 🤣🤣
