Overall, I’d say anyone that believes they are secure on line will one day be a victim of fraud or some other on-line crime. My experience tells me that, there are merely layers of security & like a lock on a door, it’s just a deterrent. If someone wants to get in, they will or they will go off looking for easier prey. While I appreciate the idea of self sovereignty, it is a lot of work & humans in general are lazy (or smart enough to conserve energy to run should the need arise).
