Well most americans woted for Thrumpp and we, in majoraty think he is a fucking idiot.
Ответитьcreps is NOT eaten with yam and cream its a totaly different dish. other than that we can gather from this that swedish dont do as much sugar as americans and that we like our homes cleaner. If someone would walk in with their shoes on in my home I would throw them out head first. Yes we love fresch air...and we are not wimps about the cold. Now a days most of the western world eat prossesed shit and swedish is not different. But if you live in a country were you can grow ALOT of things yourself why would you not do that and eat good healty food? And no now a days people dont give alot of tasks to their kids they spoil them rotten.
ОтветитьRe chokolade; this in cakes or round... Peculiar enough, I too feel a clear difference between these two. I too prefer my Marabou in cakes, taking this in rounds only when I must.
ОтветитьYou have mentioned that your husband is half-hungarian. There is a special fantastic cake in Hungary. This is the cocoa bun (exactly 'cocoa-snail'). I am always disappointed when I buy a bun anywhere and I realise after the first bite the cinnamon flavour instead of melted cocoa-sugar.🙂
ОтветитьPlättar, Small Swedish pancakes, are more similar to American pancakes. I prefer thin over thick. I'm Swedish 🇸🇪 ♥️😂. Thick pizzas is not good too, pizza bottom must be thin.
ОтветитьMy grandfather said once "you have to hands, if one is empty you are not carrying enough" not sure its Swedish maybe just him.
ОтветитьI am a Korean. In Korea, I put various vegetables and put them in oil. It is called ^^ Korean pizza.
ОтветитьMen do childcare a little to much in Sweden and cooking..hehehehe. Well maybe US men should do that more so they do not vote for a big infantil baby instead.
ОтветитьAmericans can't make pancakes. They taste like shit. The surest way to ruin a bun is to add topping.
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьI am a SWEDE. Thank you for this interesting video. Of course I’ll be bias towards your husband. 😅
1. Pancakes. I didn’t know you call our pancakes crepes in US. Crepes is just french for pancakes. So it’s not fair to diminish ours to not be called pancakes. We call yours American pancakes.
2. Glazed cinnamon buns. I would like to try it. I’m open minded. Otherwise I’m 100% with your husband. Blasfemi.
It is not a thing in Sweden with frosting on cakes. We are very German in this subject here and have marzipan layers on our cakes.
3. Absolutely no shoes indoors. If you live in a cold biom with risk of bringing in snow and gravels from the streets, you wouldn’t want to walk around your home with outdoor shoes either. A Swedish home always have an entrance hall where you take of outdoor clothes. I understand many American homes in warmer bioms just walk in into their living-room from the entrance doors. And have full covering floor carpets. Our homes are designed differently hence hard for Americans to imagine the natural shoe stop line.
4. Yeah I guess this a very American thing.
5. Yes. But up to every person what they are good at rather than your gender.
6. You really have to elaborate what temperature winter are for you. But yes, freezing cold keep the windows closed. But 15’c in spring are seen as warm and fine for open windows. But for maximum 30 minutes.
7. Fresh vs processed food is very personal. Culturally, there are a lot of conserved food here that count as processed that we eat. Sousages and so on.
I like peanut butter but I know in my family who really dislike it. Their loss. Not very common here though.
8. I personally prefer separate blankets.
9. There is an idea that parents should learn their kids life skills. But schools keeps noticing kids decline in life skills. I like that schools have life skill classes to catch up those who miss that from home. I personally grew up learning a lot of thing can be done better and smarter than how my parents do.
10. Minimalistic vs messy is personal.
I hope my inputs added something for the Swedish side.
Good fortune to you both! 😊
Very interesting video. Pleas follow up with a comparison between US, Swedish and Israeli culture.
I think many swedes like peanutbutter aswell as we like peanuts, but I think we use it less and in other ways, not with jam.
bara bada bastu yaaaaaaaaaa only bath souna
Ответитьthx for finich comady grupp the ar big in the wold right now
ОтветитьPannkakor är stora och tunna, men american pancakes är godare :)
ОтветитьListening to this I realize how Swedish I am 😂. But I do like peanut buttter 🤩
ОтветитьJust a little pointer here. You do get why there's several reasons you don't use shoes inside, right? It's a weird thought that it all has to do with snow, rain, mud etc. But what about all the animal sh*t, spit, urine, gums etc that you're dragging into the house? I will not back down on this matter. There's no reason to bring that in. Take your shoes off 😂
ОтветитьThe larger thin one is the pancake.
ОтветитьFresh air is a must. Yeah, I can’t imagine life without it. I’ll open the door to my balcony even in full winter (-10 degrees) for like 30 minutes before going to bed. I think a lot of our need for fresh air stems from sleeping outside in our prams when we are babies, almost for the entire year.
Greetings from 🇫🇮
I didnt know you lived in Israel. I thought you were in New York because of your accent 😂. I am a Jersey girl and thanks to you I realized my accent is pretty close. I dont know why i didnt figure that out before. 😂
ОтветитьNatan is right on every point. 🟡🔵
ОтветитьShoes off indoors, fresh air, food made from scratch…all good (Swedish/Brit here).
ОтветитьIn Sweden there is even a day for the cinnamon rolls called kanelbullens dag. So it is very important how you serve them. I come from Finland a d we call them örfil. They have a little different shape but also with pearl sugar on like in Sweden. Thank you so much for this video. Shoes on in the apartment is really weird. Nathan 100 percent. 😂
ОтветитьThe swedish are pancakes! Shalom from Sweden!
ОтветитьWearing shoes in someone's house makes absolutely no sense to me. It must be a nightmare to clean your floor. And what if people get pebbles stuck under their shoes? That's gonna ruin your floor.
ОтветитьObviously Natan is 100% correct (coincidentally I'm Swedish). Your banter is a joy to watch. And don't worry Tamar. It is not too late to become Swedish. You can do it. We believe in you. The pancakes has to be flat. Listen to your husband. 😀
ОтветитьThe biggest BS excuse for why Americans wear shoes indoors that I've ever heard was "but my shoes are clean because the sidewalk wasn't dirty." Dude... We live on a planet literally called "earth". Your shoes are NOT clean.
ОтветитьHi! Im mexican, lived in Texas and live in Sweden since the year 2000.
I gotta say, I'm with Tamar here on pancackes and cinamonbuns. 🥰
But the best is the glazing on cinamon buns.
I love the swedish custome of taking off the shoes, scheduling meeting with friends and equality, teachibg children survival and daily skills.
It took me some time to get used to the fresh air thing, but now I love having my house nicely aired.
Jajamen, det finns ingen dålig väder, bara dåliga ytterklädder. 🥰
I love to make fresh food, but I go for what is convenient, but I also take the comvenient options.
Yup. I am soo Swedish. 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪👍 Except - I like peanutbutter a lot.
ОтветитьTamar and natan you guys are hilarious 😂 loved this video! So true about "see you sometime". I think the fresh air might be a guy thing.... I don't understand how couples share a blanket, we use two and my husband still takes mine sometimes in the middle of the night
ОтветитьHi 👋 Sweed here. Married to an American. (We live in Sweden) Here are my two cents…
• I prefer the taste and texture of Swedish pancakes. You have to drown American pancakes in butter and syrup to make them eatable.
• Glaze on cinnamon buns is incomprehensible to me. For starters the bun is sweet enough in itself. Secondy, the whole idea is to enjoy the taste of cinnamon. If you put glaze on it, you ruin the flavor profile.
• No shoes inside is an absolute no brainer to me. When you live in a country with fall and winter half of the year, you HAVE to take your shoes off. You don’t want all that dirt, grime, mud, gravel inside your home. And it is not hygienic to bring whatever is stuck under your shoes inside. Think of all the things you step in when you’re outside. Yuk! And it is soooo much better for the health of your feet not be in shoes all day! But this is something me and my husband still are having fights about even after 29 years together. 😂
• “Let’s hang out!” It’s very simple, if you don’t mean it, don’t say it.
• If you are interested in a true partnership, equality is a must in my book.
• You have to have fresh air! I would sleep with an open window all year round if I could, but hubby doesn’t like to sleep in a cold room. I make sure to air it out every day though.
• When it comes to different foods we have kind of meshed throughout the years, but in general we eat less processed foods than the average American I would say.
• If you want to better your quality of sleep, get two blankets!
• Life skills and self proficiency regarding the children - we do differ a bit. I’d rather show them how to do things and let the try, even though it will take more time and you have to be patient. Hubby mostly does all the things himself because it goes faster that way. 😂
• We have child care here in Sweden who specializes in being outside all day every day. It’s supposedly good for the health of the children. 🤷♀️
Glacing on cinnamon buns is pure diabetes culture. It's like that habit of drowning every dish in kethcup.
ОтветитьSwedish pancakes are the yummiest!!
ОтветитьI think liking tahini or halva, but not liking peanut butter is weird. 🤣
ОтветитьNathan you're 💯% Swedish with those things. You get the seal of Swedish approval 🇸🇪
ОтветитьI had crepes once...too skinny.. too much filling. I was still hungry 😊
Ответить100% Crepe! LOL pancakes are small and thick, like scottish pancakes!
ОтветитьWhat about Swedish fish? 😂I think they are kosher also 😊
ОтветитьYou two are so cute! Your husband needs to be more open-minded! 🙄
I’m also from NY but I don’t like pancakes so much. Too much carbs!
German people also like to air out the house every day. Close the windows before it gets too cold.
Peanut butter is the best! Come on!
Dan Dan noodles! Try it! Peanut butter & tamari on the noodles. & pepper. Very yummy.
You guys are cute. And Nathan is funny!
ОтветитьScandinavian here love the Scandinavian version 😅
ОтветитьYou air out every day to prevent black mold especially in winter to keep the houses healthy, no air conditioning in Scandinavia
ОтветитьYou two are so cute. I'm an American from Western NY. Pancakes are thicker and fluffier. In the winter l crack my bedroom window open. It's great for sleeping.
ОтветитьPan cake is north american, crape is french and what you show as sweedish pancakes are blinches :))) All yummy including dutch baby pancakes
ОтветитьThin ones
ОтветитьHoney buns must be glazed, lol!
ОтветитьCrepes and Swedish pancakes two different things .
American pancake is more like a cake the a pancake to me .
I open the windows for 5-15 min. the close it .
ОтветитьCrépes (long A sound), French word used here in Canada. We love them but never make them lol, but make fluffy pancakes every week!
Ответить
