To be fair, they were all nice people & both families are extreme examples, that's what makes it compelling TV. I just cannot believe people prefer a looks-obsessed, self involved, absentee mum to a woman who values her family above everything (which is exactly how we are made, in order to survive & protect our progeny). The impracticality of Elle's artificial culture dooms it because it goes against nature itself.

I wonder if Skye or Hope ever asked their families over for dinner at THEIR house. They might get an idea of the burden - of work plus financial - & gain some respect for their parents. They seem very nice girls, they've just been spoiled into complacency. Old saying: Givers have to say No More because takers never will.

For the older kid to put all that on her daughter (the granddaughter) by saying she was naughty and that was the reason they had to leave is incomprehensible and disgusting. Kudos to the father for understanding. I do feel that deep down he wanted a bit more space from them as her knows they are taking advantage of the situation.
On the other hand, self obsessed Princess Elle is a massive hypocrite and has no place to be saying anything about how there should be more time spent with the kids when she doesn't spend ANY time with her own. Especially when she clearly sees the issues but doesn't implement them in her own life. It broke my heart seeing her kids confined and restricted with no family interaction or bonding, especially between the boys and their father. I hope Elle changes her outlook and spends more time with her own kids before it's too late and they resent them for it later in life. She needs to take her own advice. I also hope that Rob does have this reality check and be a real father. This comes from someone who has never had a father and not spoken to him in over 25years. And has also had to play both mum and dad roles for both my kids for 22 years, because their fathers didn't want the responsibility, nor wanted anything to do with their kids.

Both families can learn from each other. I like that Ella finds time for herself and her fiancé. But also Ella can incorporate her kids into activities too and don’t make them so excluded. The other family is just too crazy for me. They need a bit more structure and the older kids need boundaries. Mum needs help and shouldn’t let the older kids walk all over her
