Worst NFT Game EVER? | Big Time Gameplay and Review

What do you think of Big Time? Have you played it? Do you disagree with my opinion on the game?

What funny about all these games is that they seem to miss the entire reason why game economies make money: demand from an actual dedicated playerbase for the items.

TF2 and CSGOs' economies are successful because they exist on top of an enjoyable game. The game isnt built around the economy, it simply exists alongside it.

The only comparable examples of games built around their economies would be physical trading card games, but just as before the demand for cards within a card game only exists based upon players actively playing said game for enjoyment of the game itself. Even then, the simple fact that everything you need to play has to be purchased creates an incredible balancing act of so many other factors which takes many many extremely talented people to control.

To put this disjointed rant short: people dont buy in-game items because its an investment to make back on, at least not the average person. Demand exists for the items within the economy because of the draw of the game itself. If the games not good it's economy will go nowhere.

Amazingly uninspired game. No cool monster, level design and landscape is blank. Why would anyone even play this game?

The time span you gave the game of 2 years for a full game to be developed is abit crazy. I don't really know of any games that are AAA that were released within 2 years.

Maybe a short shitty experience or a game that uses a competed engine with most of the assets already finished.

Big Time and it's shitty ass development team can still go fuck itself, but I've never heard of a new IP being developed within 2 years. Especially if it's a MMO lol.

Hey mate nice review, they are planning to release their economy which include some updates in the next patch 0.28, this is planned for begin October. Would love to see another review after you have test this yourself. I have start playing the game again 1 week ago and I like the changes they have past through!

That skill tree looks cheap as hell. All these nft games are such dumpster fires of cheap trash designed to steal your time/money and likely mine crypto in the background.

You see, you've got it backwards! This isn't a game for the players - it's a virtual harvesting tool to extract wealth from the paypigs lured in by the empty promises. That's why there is nothing to do, except the basic loop - just enough to trick the paypigs into thinking that they might have a chance of "earning" money. And that is also the reason for the cash shop - another way to extract money from the paypigs. And as a result I have to disagree - it is a great game. At least for the devs.

Aww. I wouldn't expect the game to be good, and it certainly earns the criticism... the only part that makes me kind of sad is the commentary on the writing in the tutorial. It certainly isn't for everyone, and it doesn't work if you're looking to take the game experience seriously (I have no clue whether they expect people to), but I thought the Shrodinger's Cat tutorial quest was silly and fun.

It's like warframe but without any of the enjoyable elements. No movement, no real progress, no social elements, no world building, no weapons, no pets, no pvp, no trading, no ships, no hoverboards, and no exploration. Did i miss anything?

If the game wasnt so big and didnt involve crypto had a good game studio i feel like this couldve been an amazing hivh quality rpg

NFT or not whenever I see "player owned/run economy" I know that it is gonna be absolute crap. Everything is gonna overpriced to hell that makes it really not fun to do.

Tbh if they gave the enemies a little more interaction (ranged attacks, more movement) Big Time could be really fun imo. Yk, without the 60$ pricetag

Sadly, this looks like a pretty standard MMO. Yeah, it's mediore... but so are most MMOs, tbqh.

Big Time is honestly the closest I've seen, in NFT games, to an actual, non NFT counterpart game. It's praise for them, but speaks to the current state of MMO gaming. There are MMOs that don't suck, but I'd say like 80% of them are on par with Big Time, in terms of quality and gameplay.

After reading the comments I decided to go check if they have actually gone to full release or just folded. There seem to have been several patches but they are still in early access half a year later. Most added content seems to also add a lot of new stuff to spend money on... There are now land nfts to build your base, pocket watches, work stations, battle passes, and time wardens... I can't find any word on full release though.

Maybe it would be interesting with an update? They proclaim "always free to play" the first thing you see, but what is it really like now that there seems to be so much to buy?

Picking up cans on the side of the highway (despite the lower value of items you pick up) has a far better drop rate

I think I prefer honkai impact- a gacha game where history greatest figures are portrayed as cute anime girls.

The term "FUD" is my absolute favourite, because it's a catch-all to dismiss any and all legitimate criticism. Questions such as "Why has there been next to no progress for the past 3 years?" are dismissed as "FUD"

Aren't most adventures "through time and space"? An adventure that either lasted no time or went nowhere wouldn't be very interesting.

Phantasy Star Portable feels like it has a deeper combat system than this, and that's as barebones a action JRPG gets.

And therein lies the problem with NFT games: garbage in, garbage out. The blockchain itself can't be hacked but the game definitely can, and the blockchain can't tell whether an NFT was earned with a speed hack or not
