Could this type of software evolution be how we get to robots and AGI?

This is very cool, particularly the diversion in the southern island at hour 50. Did you ever experiment with adding noise into things such as the growth rate? This makes me want to start getting into evolving programmes again; thanks for the inspiring content!

Its not natural selection if you kill specific species haha

I don’t know if you can, but maybe make a history thing to see the evolutionary timeline from one bibite to the next?

I want to point out two things you've taught us. Firstly, how simple brains started, as the simulation shows the improvement even a few neurons can make, giving justification to the first step towards evolving more complex brains.

Secondly, that humans will always inherently try to alter natural evolution to select useless (often cosmetic) traits, as shown by your apparently counterproductive disposition to breed pink eyed creatures. It doesn't teach us anything, but you've inadvertently simulated the effect of humanity on evolution just by being there. I guess it's easier to use a real human than to simulate one

Are you able to implement something to see evolutionary history of a species so you can know its ancestry?

I'd love to see you do this again but not give a unfair advantage to one of them by killing the non pinks

I propose to make the void(optionally) 100% deadly, in order to be able to have several isolated populations without risk of invasions between them

you should add some sort of tag to a creature that ranks their children in a tree so then you can always know who the decendants are

Id Love To see some way to cause certain events such as like the plant islands splitting into two more distinct places or sudden food shortages the amount of sunlight for plants to grow excetera maybe even a way to introduce other species to an ecosystem
