How to Emboss and Deboss with Your Cricut Maker

Since we only have debossing tools and options, can’t we just mirror the image and flip the paper over to deboss the wrong side so the right side is actually embossed? If I wouldn’t have watched this video that’s what I would have done.

Do I have to watch the entire video? 😉

... oh I get it now! You have to indeed first strip away the part you don't want embossed or debossing and THEN use the debossing tool ha ha ha wonderful. Note: I refuse to use the word 'weeding' - I call the process I do 'pick and peel stripping' - 'cos as I always said - stripping is definitely an art form!

I haven't worked out how you use my embossing tool yet... I set my designs to deboss but no result is produced on the paper. I will watch your film again to make sure I'm doing it right. ...But you'd be interested to note that I've worked out lots of ways to make embossing folders myself - I've also uploaded the designs to DesignSpace that you can make in any plastic or vinyl which consists of two or more layers which allows you to peel one of the layers off after cutting. I love using Floor Lino the best and I'm getting great embossings with it on thick cardboard and one of my embossing devices or printing presses. Thanks for this film. I really want to work out how to use the embossing tool but on my third try I'm still got getting a result in cardstock!

My embossing tool doesn't emboss deep i may have to change my depth

Could you tell me the mil of card board you used? I have cardstock, but there are many differences in paper as pound weight etc.

I just looked at my papers, I have some heavy cardstock that is shiny on both sides, wonder if it will work.

I just noticed on my settings, it is in inches, so I will have to do conversion, also the newer version of Cricut design space has a "weld offset" feature, click yes or no, will leave off I think.
