Maybe the normal Arceus we see in games (as it was stated in the pokedex) is only one of the 1.000 arms that created the universe and Beta Arceus is when Arceus fuses with all the 1.000 arms

After the release of legends Arceus we can truly understand the beta sprite, wth the modern one being the simplest form of Arceus, just a fraction of it's being so we humans can't understand it and the beta form is like a bigger fraction of is power that because of that is more difficult to understand

To the question why you can catch Arceus with a Pokéball:
The Pokémon Arceus is "just" a scale of God so he is not even close to the true Power of God.

This could be thought as Arceus’ original appearance when he first emerged from his egg and slowly changed into the form we see
Side note: the legendary Pokémon chose to be caught in a Pokéball and could easily break free

Arceus' creating the world after being Brin from an egg is a inspired by old myths about the creation of the world.

The biggest problem with Pokemon is that Pokemon are your pets, friends and then they are literal deities. This creates problems lore wise.

I like to imagine that Beta Arceus is effectively "Arceus Origin," aka the formless vast thing that they were long, long before they took on physical form.

My personal headcanon, this sentient "spirit" that created the egg of Arceus....is Arceus true form. It's a paradox....Arceus created himself.

Don't know if anyone pointed that out here since now Legends Arceus came out (a while ago, i know) but in that game when you fight Arceus it then gives you "a fragment of its power" and now you can have it in your team, but if it's only a fragment of it, then it shouldn't be its true form right? Not saying that beta arceus is necessarily arceus' real form but saying that there is something more to the arceus we know, like the one we know isn't even the most powerful pokemon that exist. Maybe that original spirit mentionned in the video could be arceus' tue form, something more powerful, something brighter, something more divine that could have "created the universe with its 1000 arms" like mentionned in the games. Maybe as you said arceus is something that is beyond our comprehension because it is a superior being, et were not meant to know what it is

Arceus in game is just an avatar, embodied in the flesh to make sense to those who view it. True Arceus is probably closer to this unfinished version. I think comparing the two as to decide which is 'better' doesn't really fit within canon. Since the in-game version is just as you stated.. a POKEMON. A Pokémon representation of the true deity.

I have an Idea for that design, It could be like a permanent primal reversion. You obtain it by having Arkoos and the entire unnown alphabet plus ?and! in the same box. It gets the new type, the god type which is all 18 types combined. That means all types are STAB and Judgement is now also god type, it will always be 4x super effective.
