It’s actually pretty unwise to have just the wealthiest people of humanity survive in an apocalypse no matter what kind it is.

Most will likely have a lack of adaptability then anybody else because they’re too used to a comfortable lifestyle.

They are also the most likely to betray each other easily, rather than actually working together.

People hate this movie, the fact that it is really based on the reality that if this happens, all those rich politicians, rich businessmen, and all the rich people will surely survive. because of power and money.

I was hoping Yuri and his stupid kids would die. But no his stupid kids lived and his hottie squeeze died instead. DUMMMMMBBBB! I hated this movie.

This movie was made 3 years before the year of the plot.

You paid a billion dollars to get on an Ark and your payment partly financed the building your Ark... OK, fine. Then the existing world ends reducing your money and assets to be worthless and all the workers, engineers, farmers, doctors, paediatric nurses and others with actual skills needed to rebuild and repopulate are left behind. Now what?

Ark is just a big ship, and disaster only lasted maybe hours?

We could use airplanes full of fuel with aerial refueling system.

Although some of them might fall because of tornado stuff, at least x10,000 people would survive than that.

Probably the must underrated plot hole mistake that NO ONE has ever noticed.

If they simply kept the doors closed to the port the ships were being built in EVERYONE would have survived but worse yet....in order to have these ships built next to K2 meant they knew YEARS in advance the water would rise like this meaning they could have just built a bunch of caves/bunkers instead for people to hid in...not six ships to hold 10,000 people....

But yes....movie plot must be told so blah blah blah we got this really awful and clunky ending with a boat....

The fact that the workers who created the arch were being left behind and not only were they forced, some even decided to leave their jobs and go with the people who payed tickets says a lot.

This movie is silly. There's not enough water on Earth to create a wave that reaches that high, and supervolcanoes don't have the power to create the biggest mega tsunamis. The mega tsunami from the K T impact was about 30,000 times more powerful than a regular tsunami, and while initially ten miles tall, it lost amplitude as it spread out. It went miles inland, but most of the land areas were unaffected. There was a mass extinction, but it was from the climactic effects that lasted for years afterwards.

What I always found weird is why they didn’t just fortify the mountain itself.

Sure water would have gotten in at some interval, but building a reinforced bio dome in the mountain, with the arks as a second plan, would be the best course of action imo
