As a brazilian myself, first girl seems a lot more Japanese than Brazilian, mainly due to her mannerisms. However second girl seems a 100% Brazilian, even her English accent is so brazilian, can’t deny it lol.

Japan looks better to live than in Brazil but it's hard to adapt, I think so. Good look for all Brazilian Nikkei living there.

Always nice and interesting to see videos and interviews of other Nikkei from around the world. I being born in the USA it's always a special feeling when meeting other Nikkei from different cities and counties outside of Japan. Imagine sitting around drinking and eating otsumami and everyone is Japanese but not speaking in Nihongo but in Eigo. Fun Fun. Even more interesting trying to explain yourself as a NikkeiJin when traveling in Japan and meeting and speaking with NihonJins.

I was born in Brazil and I am half Italian.
I lived 21 years in Brazil and 14 years overseas.
Brazil had the biggest Japanese colony in the world, their grandparents generation moved to Brazil and mainly worked growing vegetables in plots of land nearby cities. They also had markets where they sold fresh vegetables, others would have a mini-market, and also open restaurants.
The generation born in Brazil almost always come from very wealthy Japanese-Brazilian families. I am from the South of Brazil and every year at leadt one classmate was half Japanese, the second generation are mainly college educated in the best universities, they become Engineers or Medical Doctors.
Brazil was very wealth and a good place to live until 2006, we had one of the biggest economic downfall in our history and our GDP/ capita shrank 55% in one year.
Since then there is a huge exodus of Brazilians that have a second nationality, even thought their families back in Brazil are wealth and everyone has a good life, for the Japanese/ Brazilian coming from the 3rd generation, there is no future for them in Brazil.
Brazil is a country where you work your ass to become an Engineer and you will earn 700 USD/ month. Whereas, if you graduate in an easy bachelor degree to teach children you will eventually be involved with politics and easily make 1000 up to 2100 USD/ month.

I had no idea Japan had a large Japanese diaspora living in Brazil. That explains Japanese game developers fixation on Brazil when it came to Japanese games being made in the '80s and '90s specifically fighting games.

Wow... I was born in Japan, but my parents returned to Brazil when I was 1 just like Karina. I don't remember anything from Japan, nor do I speak the language.

I've always had more contact wirh my Brazilian family, so I feel completely disconnected from my Japanese roots.

Now, I'm 26 and I really wish to learn about my Japanese heritage. Any tips?
