I grew up watching Masters of the Universe cartoon, Thundercats cartoon and playing with the action figure toys too as a kid.

I got the slip cover version of “ YWNFM” great little horror film and the sound design like others have said is ……LEGENDARY

I was thinking of getting it but considering it's just a blu-ray and not a 4k, and not even being a remastered bluray is pretty lame. The extras are nice as well as the presentation, but it's the movie itself that matters and if we're not getting anything new than I won't bother.

Even if Masters of the Universe was actually locked to Region B, I would have bought it if they kept the outer box as the original concept with He-Man and Skeletor against the black/space background. I thought that looked so sick, the way the characters were rendered. I think that art is used as the Blu-ray case artwork instead now

Great film I will die on that hill! I was 5 when it came out and have been watching it ever since! All my kids have grown up watching it just a cult classic.

I have the Masters of the Universe box set. I have a few years on you, so it is nostalgic. I can completely admit it is not a masterpiece. I liked MotU, Transformers, Thundercats, Silver Hawks, TMNT, and Batman The Animated Series! I was in the sweet spot! 😎

As someone who did watch He-man and She-ra as a kid, I remember when I saw Masters of the Universe in the theater my reaction was a big "WTF was that?" I have no idea who they made that film for. 😂

Primer is a head trip and a half…great film that deals with these guys that make a Time Machine but not to necessarily go way back or way forward…but it messes their lives up big time as they don’t understand that impact of what they are doing. You gotta check it out -

First 20 mins is confusing as it’s all mathematical mumbo jumbo but just stick with it and see if you can figure out what’s going on.

I'm a huge Masters Of The Universe fan since the toys came out in 1982. And the story of the mini comics, which was better than the cartoons, was that He-Man is a barbarian that saves Teela from being eaten by a dinosaur and as reward gives him his chest plate and the weapons. He had NO secret identity and Battlecat lived in the forest there was NO Cringer. I could go on but this would take hours what they changed in the cartoons but I did watch them, had the toys and was subscribed to the magazine. That movie is an entertaining fantasy/sci-fi but a terrible MOTU movie. The first sin was not cast a legion of bodybuilders. A lot of things are wrong with this movie. It was a massive letdown and a spit in the face to us fans. For those blinded by nostalgia and think it's a good representation of MOTU I'm happy for you. Me? I'll never get over it. I have seen pictures that they're doing a new MOTU film with regular men in muscular suits!😱 And again they refuse to cast bodybuilders. We'll see. Anyway good acquisitions good showing and cool video Ken!👉🙂👈

I don't care how bad MASTERS is, Frank Langella's performance is the platinum standard for doing the over-the-top dramatic villain. Hundreds of other actors--Oscar-winners, RSC veterans--have tried and failed to nail the exact perfect way to play that time of homicidal egomania. Even through that mask, he makes Skeletor totally believable and captivating. I dare say that Skeletor is better than Palpatine from an acting POV (NO disrespect whatsoever to Ian McDiarmid).

I picked up the Limited sets of Masters of the Universe, Primer and Upstream Colour. I did grow up with Masters of the Universe and have a huge soft spot for this movie despite despite its many shortcomings. It's a lovely set but I agree that it would have been much better in 4k. I have not watched Upstream Colour yet but I am intrigued by it but I have seen Primer and it's a fantastic low budget indy time travel film and when it was announced in this nice edition by Umbrella I just had to get it.

Primer - the hardest film to truly follow/understand without multiple watches. So much so there are several videos on YT trying to explain the timeline haha. It’s a short movie but baffling. Very good though

I hung out with Meg Foster for 20 minutes about 5 years ago while I was using my R2-D2 with some little kids, she loved watching the kids have fun with him. She is a real nice lady.

Upstream color is from the same director as Primer, Shane Carruth - very artsy movie but worth a watch. You should watch Primer first though, he directed, edited, produced, scored AND acted in the film - an absolute masterpiece done with a $5000 budget!

Hey Ken, Got a question for you … is it really necessary to buy 4K movies these days when there so expensive and blu rays are way cheaper and look good?? Especially when you’re on a budget isn’t it just as important to just own the movies you want ???

Masters is the same transfer as the old bluray , unless its 4K release not interested in a load of air in a box set.

That is why I was able to get a copy then cuz it said sold out before then it was suddenly available again I must've purchased someone elses cancellation
