Fake Copyright Emails Drop LockBit Ransomware | Cyber Protection Operation Center News

The LockBit ransomware group is one of the most active groups at the moment. Last Sunday they published 5 new victims on their leak site and they released their new version LockBit 3.0.At the moment LockBit are sending emails with fake copyright infringement warnings in order to get users infected. The email contains a password protected zip archive with an installer file that is disguised as a PDF document. They are now officially offering money rewards for bugs found in their software or backend systems. Depending on the severity the payouts start at USD 1,000 but can go up to 1 million. The Active Protection included in Acronis Cyber Protect detects and blocks ransomware from LockBit and other groups, keeping your data safe from encryption or extortion.
