ОтветитьThank you. For non backpackers you should buy a backpack. Most BLM or forest land you may have to camp a mile away from road. Take a picnic dinner. If you are not active a mile may be tough. Remember if you forget something in the car it is 2 miles of walking! Usually overnight you can simply go without a few items.
ОтветитьFind fire roads and camp off of them
ОтветитьIs there a risk of hunters in any of the public lands or if accidentally ending up in a private section?
ОтветитьNice video! I have two questions:
1) Which app/website can you recommend most for finding out what type of property you are on (private/national forest/BLM/...)?
2) What is your experience regarding the amount of dispersed campsites that are registered on websites such as Campendium vs the amount of dispersed campsites that you find via satellite map search or "manual" search by walking through nature?
Nice job! Videos like yours are a real help! You covered it girl! Thank you! Be safe out there!
God bless
What do all the hand gestures mean?
Ответитьa screenshare video of your boondocking campsite hunting would be awesome!
ОтветитьМного слов, у автора чсв, показала бы в ролике с походом на своём примере чем болтать.
ОтветитьWow! Did you hear that bigfoot behind the tree in the far background??
ОтветитьGood advice, thank you. Ever experience bears in your camp?
ОтветитьTo go to a campground with amenities, you many as well just go to a motel for the weekend. I camp a lot and I've never had amenities... that's because I went camping, not glamping.
ОтветитьDispersed camping sounds great, but what about safety for a woman camping solo?
ОтветитьCould you create a video on how you shoot/create videos.
ОтветитьI gave you a thumbs up and don't want to disrespect anything. But screw the campgrounds and facilties. Boring. Boondocking is camping. Just pull over and camp. 😊
ОтветитьMake a video of 12 forest trees nice green cool areas where people can camp for free make at least put 12 on there that people can try out. In the winter time I spend most of my time in the desert but you can't do that now it's too damn hot
ОтветитьEverybody knows what the difference is between the camp and what people needs to know is where they can camp in the trees for free because 99% of all free camping is hot godforsaken desert
Ответитьthank you, very informative...I also love that you are keeping the "peace symbol" alive, lol !
ОтветитьBuying an rv was a mistake, if I had only known what I know now. Now I know I should have bought a pickup truck with a huge tent. A solar setup, portable AC and heaters, inflatable mattress, composting toilets, etc. I can shower at the gyms as I travel. So now I know. What I don't know is WHERE I can set up the tent and for how long.
ОтветитьDispersed camping is not safe from bears and serial killers
ОтветитьHi Amanda excellent video exactly what I was looking for in Pennsylvania. What state do you camp at is it north eastern or mid western?
ОтветитьGorgeous and loves to camp now that is marriage material😁🤘🇺🇸
ОтветитьHi I love your video! I like camping and want to change from regular campgrounds to open land! You gave me a great idea. Thank you very much! — Fernando Herrera

It's good to do tried and true campgrounds
and yes fees

When a place says you can stay for 14 days, how long do you have to wait before you can come back?
ОтветитьDo you know if there's any BLM land near Taos, NM?
ОтветитьIf "Jesus Christ its so fcking cold" is not my very first thought waking up, I know I'm not camping hard enough lol One huge life changing decision, for me that is, was giving dispersed camping a try. But it made me nervous, just because of the risk factors. Even though I'm a skilled hunter and outdoorsman, I was hesitant. Till I finally pulled the trigger and went all out. My first trip I went 3 nights and 4 days in northern Utah. I hiked 6 miles from my truck and set up on a river bank in early October. Being completely alone in absolute solitude is an indescribable experience. And I'm so blessed I live in an area that allows me to go out once a month and spend a weekend away, while not really costing anything but a tank of gas and I can be in a completely new area every time. I love it

ОтветитьI just don’t get it. If you’re going to go through all that effort to creat a campground and clear out areas where campers can camp, would it be too much to go that extra mile and create sites that are at least level? I mean really.
ОтветитьMy compliments! You’ve done a very good job here of explaining the difference between dispersed camping and campground camping. The one thing I might add is that, people visiting dispersed camping areas should remember to respect the space of people camping there. People don’t drive into remote corners hoping for neighbors. If you camp near someone be sure to ask if they’re comfortable with neighbors and try to be considerate of their space. Thank you for taking time to share your experience with us. I’ve been camping in Oregon for 70 years and even I learned something.
Ответитьwow finally first time I arrived in your channel and from today I decided that I will always fallow your channel what a super and beautiful video it gave me satisfaction Big Fan from Nepal
ОтветитьHow about our safety if we decide to go for dispersed camp…
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьHi. I’m new here. Your video was very informative for me. I camp in a 24 ft class C that I have outfitted to be completely off grid, solar, lots of water, very comfortable and able to tow my mini van or cargo trailer which houses my Harley. I hoping as begin to view your other videos, to find fairly accessible and safe BLM campsites.
ОтветитьI plan to tour on my Harley, from coast to coast. I will camp wherever I can, probably right off the interstate. I'm watching videos like this to give me an idea.
ОтветитьSuper helpful!
ОтветитьI love your videos. I have learned so much! I grew up camping and my husband I trued camping a few times years ago. I really want to get into car camping again with our dog in tow. We plan on trying it out this June. We would love to live out of our subaru so we are sleeping off the ground. Now sure how that will work with the dog. Your tips make me confident we can do this!
ОтветитьGreat vid. Where are you finding $5 sites? Everything near me = 35-85 for tent only; rv more, but no interest in rv.
ОтветитьHi Amanda, thank you for all your videos of camping tips, dogs and don't. I can't wait for spring to warm up and have my wife and hopefully our little dog Barrett along for a camping trip. We are hoping to camp in North Western Illinois or Southern Wisconsin in June 2022.
ОтветитьIf you’re camping at a campground (reserved) for a weekend and you have to drive away from your campground to get to a specific hiking spot. Are you supposed to pack up everything and reset it up again that night or do you leave your tent up & supplies out while you’re hiking? (Doing some research as I’ve never been 🤪) thanks!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьHi Amanda, can you do a video on gifting researchers of BF's ? Remember we like ribs, steak and chicken, all cooked and put in a container, sealed please.
ОтветитьHow specifically do you ascertain whether you can camp somewhere or not? Like, not a broad answer, what words do you put in a google search or what website do you go to to find a spot that looks like you could camp there, then confirm that you both can and find out in advanced about fire regulations and whatever?
I know my question isn't articulated well and I honestly don't know how or where to ask this, but I'm pulling my hair out. I hate developed campgrounds with a passion, but I've spent so much time trying to understand how to plan an actual dispersed camping trip - I just can't make progress on figuring this out. Last year I took a trip with some friends and we thought we understood, but we didn't. We looked up a place that we could see was designed as national forest near lake superior, looked up the specific area as much as we could on google, found positive confirmation that we could dispersed camp there, found some phone numbers for ranger stations nearby (we never got through to talk to anyone), but then we showed up and there were no camping signs EVERYWHERE. It's so fucking discouraging how inaccessible nature is :|
How can I find these diverse camping spots?
Ответитьyou didnt even mention safety, campgrounds are usually pretty safe, fenced when needed and people around if something goes wrong. out in the middle of nowhere if you are injured or attacked by wild life you are on your own. i wont backwoods camp without a shotgun.
ОтветитьWhat is your opinion of Hipcamp?
ОтветитьNever seen yet a website that tells all the places that are ''offgrid'' on vancouver island. Pay campsites is not camping if you ask me.
ОтветитьOverland style dispersed is hard to find here in New England. So encompassed with campgrounds and with private property there’s not much opportunities to take your car out and drive to a distant location. Private camp locations is usually the next best thing
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I've been looking for! I've been looking for a dispersed camping site or tips in general. Dispersed camping is the world I am looking for! The dirt roads would be something I look forward to since my husband and I own an off road vehicle. The solitude and the seclusion alone makes it so much better already.
