At least Da Bears won something: they got Ben Johnson as HC.
ОтветитьI could feel my IQ drop to the single digits when Eberflus didnt call that timeout. I'd call a timeout in this situation on MADDEN thats how dumb it is
ОтветитьMy GOODNESS, the Lions have ended an inordinate amount of head coaches careers in the last two seasons.
ОтветитьThis guy was MVP of his middle school’s practice squad
Ответитьi remember thinking "WTF" when wathching this in real time. I then saw the press conference and had to ask myself, what was worse, the sequence of the post game defense of the decision making.
ОтветитьI have seen teams run 3 to 4 plays with the amount of time they had.
ОтветитьHe didn't want this job anymore but had to get fired to get his money. He did it on purpose.😡
ОтветитьAt 32 seconds left to go, this is like Matt Eberflus personally rolling the red-carpet out onto Soldier Field and introducing JG9 for a Master-Class in Dumb Decisions.
ОтветитьThe one time I root for the Bears, of course they pull something like this. Was yelling at my TV the entire time.
ОтветитьThe ball gets snapped at 14 or even 10 seconds instead of 6, and it's a different story. Saving the timeout was a good idea if your team is well coached enough to get to the line and get the snap off. It should NEVER take an NFL team 26 seconds to get to the line and snap. That's what was dumb.
ОтветитьIt was 3rd going into 4th, so
ОтветитьI remembered watching the ending of this game, and I said that I had a feeling that JG9 was going to put this questionable call by Eberflus into Dumb Decisions.
After watching this, I was among those who said, "yup! called it!"
And Eberflus got fired immediately.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back, now he's gone.
ОтветитьObviously you don't trade stock, sometimes you have to 💎🙌 and hold till 0!
ОтветитьGame should have been over by then. But no that awful PI was called.
ОтветитьWhy do you have 24 bears helmets as a jags fan
ОтветитьI saw the sack happen, turn around for 30 seconds to tend to prepping dinner, and then see that the game ended.
Without even seeing what happened, I KNEW it would be a Dumb Decision
Even we Lions fans were dumbfounded at the ending of that game. Even Dan Campbell was like, what just happened there? We don't grade our wins... a win is a win, but what just happened?
ОтветитьCharlie Brown: AAAAUUUUGGHH!!!! 😫😫😫😫😫
ОтветитьI know it's not your normal m.o., but I'd love to see a video on the success rate of 3rd and short and specifically 3rd and 1 (or less). I know it does get stopped, but it legit feels like as automatic as the XP used to be.
ОтветитьMy mother watched this, cooking mashed potatoes and Ham.... and even she was disgusted. She is not a fan. That says alot.
ОтветитьAsk and ye shall receive..
ОтветитьWilliams could have also called a timeout. It's not just on eberflus and anyone who says it is are a clown and cannot be taken seriously.
ОтветитьYou could make an hour long video of those stupid decisions. His history of calling for 2 point conversions when a 1 point kick would've put them in a position where they could win or tie but got Zero points instead. That missed 2 point conversion earlier in this game? If they'd have gone for the extra point, they could've easily taken a knee at the 25 to run the clock and kicked it for a win. They still would've needed a TD and field goal 2 point or 1 point. The decision to call a defense that led to open sidelines allowing for the commanders to get a pass to get into hail mary range as well as stop the clock.
ОтветитьHe’s been fired. 🎉
ОтветитьI disagree that you call that final timeout there. Third and 27, you have a play set up in advance and your players get set quick. Caleb said he made adjustments to the play at the line. That was unacceptable. But even after that, had he quickly thrown a slant or an out that picked up 7-12 yards, he still would have had time to call timeout.
ОтветитьThe thing that made this SO COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE are the words of Eberflus and Caleb in the post game presser. HC first: “We were outside FG range” ~ no, you weren’t. It would have been a LONG FG attempt at 58 yards, but still possible. I know Santos doesn’t have a huge leg, but a 58 yard attempt would have been better than what we ended up with. Press asks what he would have done different: “I like what we did there (at the end of the game). I think we handled it the right way”. ~ well, you didn’t handle it the right way. You handled it the worst way possible. Thankfully, this guy was fired on Friday (after a press conference where he said he’d be getting ready for San Fran next week).
Caleb Williams gets his own comment, as this is too long. However , he’s the rookie QB who played so well in the second half that he put them in position to maybe win this game, so I’m gonna cut him more slack.
My stepdad and stepbro are bears fans, we were watching in astonishment as the ample time evaporated in that one play. Dumbest most embarrassing moment I witnessed in NFL history
ОтветитьHE GOT FIRED! YESSSSSSS!
ОтветитьWorst coach for game management? I see your Eberflus and raise you a McDermott.
The 13 second game had 3 separate mistakes in those 13 seconds (not quib kicking, not tackling the receivers on the first play, and then playing to stop a TD instead of a FG, Kelce wasnt even covered), each one so egregiously bad they were firebale offenses. All 3 together are the greatest coaching fail of all time.
Last year, McDermott blew 3 games on his own after Allen gave him the lead with under 2 min left. He blew the Kansas City as welll, but Toney being offsides bailed him out.
This year McDermott has made game losing decisions in 2 seperate games but Allen played superhero and it didn't cost the team. This doesn't even count the games he was silly in that weren't close.
If the Bills hadn't come out of the 17 year desert, McDermott would have been gone. But he gets enormous leaway for helping bring the team back from the dead.
Worst lart is he males the right call most of the time, but he "reverts" to 1970s football guy when he gets "tight" as the tyler dunne article says, and suddenly forgets how to do modern game management.
Being a Lions fan, I'm glad he didn't call the time out. But I was totally surprised he didn't and it was one of the stupidest calls I've ever seen.
ОтветитьThey fired him today
ОтветитьAs a lions fan this video is pure gold I subscribed
ОтветитьI will say that MAYBE Santos has a little more in his leg and has the range for a 58 yarder, and I can see why they might want to run SOME clock down. I was certain Bass couldn't hit from 61 and he did, after all, AND he was outdoors in the wind tunnel that is Oh-hai-mark Stadium. But I see the reason for 'definitely make up some yardage and don't worry about the extra time... that much' argument. Williams makes a 10 yard play up the middle, it's 4th and 16 and a 48 yarder, and you never know, the fire drill could catch someone offsides and it's a 43 yarder with less stress on the kick except for a possible icing. (And maybe a Joe Gibbs Special as I call it, an accidental double icing that, if the refs don't ignore it, means an unsportsmanlike conduct and an extra 15 closer. I'm flashing back to the only game I truly wish the Bills lost, the Sean Taylor Tribute game.)
ОтветитьThis might be the all time dumbest ever
ОтветитьHow times have changed because this use to be something the Lions would have done to lose but now my team is officially ELETE!
ОтветитьSave your timeout to exchange it for prices at Dave and Busters...
Hilarious!!!
After Caleb got sacked, I turned away assuming a time out would be called and then was shocked when I saw 5 seconds left in the game as regulation ended. I ranted for five minutes straight about how that the worst clock management I’ve ever seen in 30+ plus years of watching football. This blunder is up there with Leon Lett going for the ball on Thanksgiving vs. Miami.
ОтветитьCan't forget the Leon Lett Thanksgiving either
ОтветитьHilarious that even the Lions players couldn't believe what happened. They're looking around like 'where is the penalty that allows them one more shot'...that's what would have happened in the past. Look at Campbell after the play. He was in shock too. Looked like he was trying to figure out if there was a penalty or something.
ОтветитьMan, the refs were horrible in this game as well. Bad PI call on Vildor, which they also missed a false start. Clear holding on that first Allen TD. Called Jamo for taunting but not Stevenson for tripping him and taunting him which caused Jamo to toss the ball. A few holding calls missed, St. Brown got pushed down on a route, but the defender looked back so it's apparently ok.
ОтветитьI was in a room with relatives who knew NOTHING about football, two of the younger ones had NEVER seen a game. Even THEY were looking at the clock and screaming: WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
This was mind numbingly stupid.
Sick of everyone giving Williams a pass on this too. He's at least forty-nine percent responsible. Total lack of awareness.
well this is one of the few times the thumbnail isnt clickbait, because the bears did indeed fire their HC
ОтветитьWhat's spectacularly stupid here is that Eberflus has to be thinking "If Caleb gets sacked, we call timeout" before they even RUN the play on 2nd down! Coaching is about planning ahead.
I don't give a tinker's cuss about Da Bearce, but even I'm embarrassed for them.
I can see why they didn't call it right away, but there was no game management. The players had no Hussle to them
ОтветитьMy 14 year old son is a huge Lions fan. He was watching the end of the game while I drove us to eat at my sisters house. I made him explain the ending to me probably 15 times 😂
“What do you mean? How did they run out of time? They had a time out? What?! That doesn’t make sense. Tell me what happened exactly one more time.”
The Flus was cut loose!! 😂😂
ОтветитьIs there a playlist in this series with only Eberflus videos. I feel like he’s been on here at least 10 times
Ответить
