Oh my god... I'm such an idiot! I've been searching around on GIMP for at least ten minutes now...

that's not inserting an image! inserting an image would be when a file is already selected open

I tried this, and Gimp opened a separate window, or whatever it's called. It was floating ABOVE the three other photos! The new photo is supposed to be in the lower, right corner * WITH * my three other photos.

I follow the instructions above exactly. But my picture is being imported with super low quality/resolution. The original photo is great quality. Can someone help me?

for those who are trying to add an image, try to drag the new project to the layers panel. I'm pretty new to gimp so I'm not sure if this could be any help though

Would be nice to also learn how to not insert an image.
I think its best if you start with how you park at the computer shop.
