Apart from the hot end, I don't see any real difference in this from the original Ender 5, which was not as much of a difference over the Ender 3. The build volume, the motion system..... I really don't understand this printer. I did get an original Ender 5. In the original Ender 5 stock configuraion, it can print at 120mm/s with acceleration around 1750 and I can get decent prints with little ringing. Again, that was stock, with stock hot end, stock motion system, stock V channel wheels and Creality Marlin firmware. I don't see the S1 as being an upgrade of any kind, other than maybe having the Sprite extruder, and that is quesitonable as to whether it is an upgrade or not.
ОтветитьI have a Ender 3 neo and the extra space you need is annoying so I think the Ender 5 solved that, but tbh it was Creality way of chucking something together to combat the Bambu and well just doesn’t come close. It’s funny how Creality tries to copy Bambu, fails and then Bambu copy Creality and brings out a bed slinger and does that better. But simple fact is Creality is cheaper so they will always get business
Ответитьi got it for 180 :/
ОтветитьWow okay I was thinking about it but NO WAY now!
Why on earth are they selling it!?!?!?
Not a review, just thoughts of a hater.
ОтветитьI got one of these on Craigslist for 215$ and I basically put it in my car, brought it home, plugged it in, and started printing things, which as a long time 3D printing follower, but first time owner, made me very very happy. After watching this video, I'm not at all disappointed with my purchase, but I'm very very happy I didn't get it at a full price!! Seems like it has flaws compared to other printers in it's "weightclass". But again, for the pricepoint I got, a very very good starting printer.
ОтветитьI just came across a sale on Creality's website where they have the Ender 3 S1 and the Ender 5 S1 for about $20 difference (Just under $300 for the 3-S1 to $315 for the 5-S1)
ОтветитьI had mine for about two months now and I am very satisfied with the results, but.....
I did upgrade to a PEI bed after one of my prints lifted the coating on the original plate. The PEI plate has an amazing finish and if you let your print cool down, you can just pick it right off the plate. What I should say, though, is that I got it for about 490 USD (Converted from South African Rand) with 4 rolls of eSUN PLA+ filament on a promotion that a local supplier ran. I would say that, if I were to buy myself another printer I would probably buy the E3 S1 Pro because I will not spend the original price on this E5 S1.
I think my next upgrade would be an enclosure to enable ABS printing, which is a big plus for this. So, yes, in my opinion if Creality want to keep it at this price point they should at least make the plexiglass enclosure standard, provide a PEI bed plate, some LED lighting and camera and upgrade the wheels to linear rails. All of these are upgrade that I will be doing in the long term which should take my cost up to the original price and then I would think this might be a good deal.
I got mine for 335 on Creality
ОтветитьGot it for $300 at my job, pretty good deal
Ответитьi just baught this recently luckaly i got it for 330
ОтветитьI just picked one up for 325$ and no regrats
ОтветитьCurrently on sale for $355 on Amazon for black Friday fellas
ОтветитьI just got mine for 303 on amazon so it for sure is worth it at that price, I think I agree with you I do want a faster bigger one lol
ОтветитьI just picked one up on sale for $315
Ответитьgot my clone for $180 . bought a Micro Swiss NG and put on my linear rails from my old printer and its amazing. Last upgrade i might make is the core xy mod. Its worth it at the price its selling for now if anyone is reading this.
ОтветитьWhy do you use the slicer to control the speed at 250 mm
Ответитьi get u dont like the printer for the price, but if i got it for 340, would it be worth?
ОтветитьThis one and Ender-7 seems like flooding the market kind of printers. One store here in Sweden sells both of these printers for a major discount.
ОтветитьHi , in my country , the bambulab is double the price tag of this ,,if this was you case , would you still get the ender ?
ОтветитьDoesn't make sense when you can get the K1 or the BL P1P for roughly the same price.
ОтветитьCreality themselves have made a lot of their product line obsolete, they love doing this
ОтветитьI’ve been scammed by the advertising😢
ОтветитьA great review JJ
My finger was hovering over the buy button...
You have changed my mind just in time. 👍
Now I'm thinking of spending more and getting a Prusa Mk4.
Any thoughts on those?
I've found this printer for £369 in the UK today, which made it a bit of a bargain in my opinion.
ОтветитьI lucked out and grabbed my S1 from Micro Center for $175.00 But I've had my eye on the 5 S1 lately and its on sale for $389.00 🤔
ОтветитьCuz its bada$$
Ответитьthis printer is on sale for 365 right now on amazon is it worth it at that price?
ОтветитьHey JJ, started off with a 5S1 at the start of the year but moved to bambulab a couple of months later and now this is gathering dust.
Was wanting to repurpose it with Creality's laser module but can't find compatibility with the 5S1. Are you aware if it's possible or if there are any solid mods out there to make it work.
Love the podcast.
Cheers 😊
This printer shines when used with the sonic pad. Anyone that owns this printer. Definitely upgrade to the creality sonic pad
ОтветитьAfter seeing this printer, and now that the K1 is released.... for 100$ more the amount of value you get out of the K1 compared to this is astonishing.
ОтветитьUmm.. that Bowden tube is NOT really a "Bowden tube"... it's direct drive extruder so it's only using the tube to pull the filament through... it's irrelevant it can be pulled out easily as it's never going to happen and even if it does, there will be no damage, unlike the REAL Bowden tube extruder!
ОтветитьGreat video! what's your favourite large format 3D printer
ОтветитьOn the EU Creality Store the bundle for 3 S1 Pro with Sonic Pad and 5 S1 with Sonic Pad are almost the same price(like 10euros difference) I think in this case the Ender 5 S1 is the better choice right?
ОтветитьThank you for saving my time and money. I think for my first printer I may get the biqu b1 se plus from temu....
I am also interested in the creality k1 maybe...
I want to do lithophanes and robotics
I think they listened i saw it its now going for 460 somewhere
Ответитьthanks you saved me some money I am just gonna get the ender 3 S1 Pro and save up for the bambu when I learn more about 3d Printing
ОтветитьCan you get a K1 or K1 max for review ? Specwise it looks awesome. However, I wonder why there are basically no reviews anywhere …
Ответитьi have this printer and it blows, i think it just broke after like 4 months. also the worst firmware i've ever seen, totally damaged my print bed ramming it into the nozzle a bunch. unless things turn around i won't be buying another product from creality
ОтветитьBought this on preorder and paid under 500, bought the sonic pad and that was a big help.
ОтветитьHi Compare this with Enders S1 Pro, which one is better in performance vs price ? I mean which one is more value for money ?
ОтветитьMaybe this is just their way of selling their parts inventory. It exists to exist.
ОтветитьThank you, I was seriously considering this machine along with the others, now it is out of the list.
ОтветитьI pre ordered the 5S1 which put it at that Ok price point (they were just under $500 on pre order). Problem is, the pre order machines are riddled with so many issues between the firmware problems and build quality in areas, that the lower price still wasn’t worth the headaches. When it works it’s great, but when it messes up it will leave you scratching your head.
ОтветитьYou saved me from not even considering this, I think I am just going to go with bambo lab
ОтветитьEverything Creality makes is junk
ОтветитьGot one of these on flash sale so paid about 380 for it so im pretty happy with mine
Ответить
