Why couldn’t they have charged him with unlawful communication with technology before the “vigilante” event by the family. The police failed by brushing the family off in the first place. The family should have sued the police department.

Cops won't do anything until after the fact. In this case or any other. The myth that cops are going to preemptively stop crime is pervasive in the law and order crowd, but in practice that's not how it works.

Firstly, I am unable to understand the people who think that the police should be monitoring what they and their children are /saying 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, and 12 months of the year, which begs the questions, how many police officers do they want in their lives, and who is going to pay them? ? ?? ???

I don't get, why didn't that father tackle his 15 year old daughter? Women are the gate keepers to sex, and they know what they want. When I was 15 in high school all most every girl was sleeping around, many of them dated college guys in their 20's and older.

The police are right not to approve of vigilante, it shouldn't have to be necessary. It's not ALL the police's fault tho, We The People have to demand stricter laws and lawmakers should even be making those laws without having to be told. A guy in his 30s has no business talking with a kid he doesn't know, that's just common sense.
