As you watch this, it can easily convey not so much gay love, which is not expressed here, but simply one boy very much attracted to another. Friendship should NEVER be confused with a sexual desire. It is completely normal, especially in males, to have an enormously strong attraction to another and not have it gay by any means. They simply want another male to be completely close to, to share the experience. Male bonding comes in many forms and it's real, normal and natural. It's too bad that boys today are not allowed very close friendships/soulmates without them being labeled. Seems the only outlet today where boys can be close together is in sports. There was a time this was 100% normal. Today, everything is suspect. What a tragedy. This short film is almost priceless in its message.

I think it's hard to appreciate (if you're not gay) how much courage such a small act can take. Not only do you have the risk of being rejected that everyone faces, on top of that you could end up being outed to everyone you know. On this point, I think the 'Hallmark' style piano soundtrack was out of place and the film would have been better without it.

I do not ask you for any reward for this. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.

This is what we have needed as prototypes for our gay rights movement. If Hollywood had produced films of gay relationships based on romance and love in the 70's and 80's rather than lust, self harm behaviors and misery, we would have had same sex marriage and equality decades ago. Instead we got oversexualized stereotypes, drugs, suicide, and rejection stories with more pity and shame than truth. What kills me is that it was often gay and bisexual writers, directors and actors that drove those stories and films into the theaters and television sets..
