Wow...for me this is one of your best videos telling us the history of the Timex watches...I truly appreciate it...thank you
ОтветитьNeed to replace the battery in your timex? Hope you got a watch press.
ОтветитьI was born in 67 and when I was 5 yrs old my Grandad taught me to tell the time and he bought me my first ever watch. It was a Timex Sprite. It probably cost under £5 in 1972. Today, those watches are marketed as a vintage military watch and nice ones regularly fetch £100. As a boy I was fascinated with that watch and still had it laying around in a draw until my early 20s. I really don't know what happened to that watch but I so wish I'd looked after it and kept my first ever watch. Im 56 now and could easily buy another one and have considered it many times but it just wouldn't be mine. I cherish the memories of that little Timex which started my fascination with watches which endures today. As a teen I lived through the digital age and owned watches with alarms, dual time, chronographs etc then later in life moved onto the solar watches from Citizen and the Kinetics from Seiko and today im now back into mechanical movements, back where I started in 1972. Great video, it really triggered a lot of memories for me. Thank you.
ОтветитьMy sister bought me the Timex Ironman. Wearing it now love it
ОтветитьMy first watch was a Timex windup.
I gift watches to high school and college grads. I have one remaining Ironman - new - beater watch and one remaining Skagen - new- dress watch.
I have bought used Timex quartz and used Ironman units. When shtf, I have watches for a group setting to be used in conjunction with low end communication devices.
I hate ladies watch because they are usually so simple, i would love to have day and date at least, like men's watch
ОтветитьI think the first Mickey Mouse watch was an Ingersol
ОтветитьGreat video ! History lesson
ОтветитьI remember watching Timex spokesman, John Cameron Swayze saying "Timex, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' " in the early '60s. They had a series of TV commercials where they would put a timex through different tests like shooting an arrow through a window with a Timex attaached.
Ответить❤Timex.
ОтветитьMr. Time Teller, appreciate you doing the research and providing an informative update filled with wit and creative editing. Thanks for the heads up on A man and his Watch! Looking forward to more videos.
ОтветитьI used to like Timex watches... until I started learning about watches.
ОтветитьOnly problem I have with Timex is their watches are small. The website only have 40-41mm automatic watches. I like at least 43-46. I do have the 40mm expedition
ОтветитьI have an Invicta Watch with Mickey Mouse about 2 years ago and I now have a Mickey Mouse display on my Apple Watch.
ОтветитьI still have a 1969 Timex Viscount that was given to me when I was 11yo, it was a very big deal at the time and I never really gave the watch a "good lickin" but Patrick Swayze was correct, my watch is still ticking and has never been serviced, one of my Son's will end up with it.
ОтветитьAin’t nothing wrong with a Timex. Reasonably priced, time tested and reliable.
ОтветитьAnyone with an old Timex that they would like to have restored need to contact Fred Bitzer in Florida. Timex sends everyone to him
ОтветитьI am a Swatch Collector but have a 75 Timex Linen that Fred Bitzer in Florida refurbished for me. I love it. It was great-grandfather's watch. Looking for my second timex now, I love the pan-am Waterbury
ОтветитьHow is it a huge mistake for watch makers to not focus as much effort on women's watches as men's if you yourself are citing market research that shows women make up a much small section of the watch market? Please explain. Do you want them to sink money into new designs that would sit on shelves and collect dust? Women probably aren't as interested in watches because they have other commonly worn ornamental options as well. So why are you as a man asking for more variety in women's watches when you know they're less interested in them?
ОтветитьI like how he jumped from 1970 to 1986 trying to show that Timex had some master plan to deal with the Quartz crisis. Thats where this post lost all credibility.
ОтветитьOmg Jory I just re- re- located my grandfather's 4014(1) Timex Viscount 4014 2961 - Circa 1961. It needed a new crown and to be cleaned and oiled. He obviously loved it and wore it. I polished the crystal and fitted it with a new brown leather band to dress it up a bit. It is in my weekly rotation. So cool to have a piece of history and my grandfather's watch on my wrist. Thanks for the history lesson here! So interesting.
ОтветитьBack in the day, men didn't have wrists, so they could wear wristwatches
ОтветитьI love men’s watches. 40mm face! I love the big look on my wrist it makes my arm look smaller and more dainty and yet it’s cool! Like a girl driving a truck or a jeep. I just ordered my first Timex Waterbury Roman numeral leather strap quarts watch and an extra stainless steel chain link strap to switch out for different occasions! I can’t wait to receive it! I’ve loved my Casio baby g digital watch that I use for work (health care, need to read the minutes quickly). My Timex is for my nice outfits outside of work
ОтветитьNow I know why women are very poor in keeping time!!🤷♀🧕👰♀ Give them watches
ОтветитьThat timex expedition chronograph…. That’s the watch that started my journey to spend thousands of dollars.
ОтветитьI agree, I am a 55 year old female interested in affordable but interesting timepieces
ОтветитьLoved this video! Thanks for sharing! :)
ОтветитьI had a Timex when I was a kid. I loved it! Now as an adult I bought an Ironman T200... No idea of how to use it properly, but heaven it looks great! I think wearing a Timex won´t give you status, but let´s be honest: Who cares if they look so great!
ОтветитьI guess timex makes versace watches
ОтветитьYou should check you’re Timex history. Timex has NOT been around for 167 years. The name Timex didn’t exist until the 1940’s. Timex’s parent company, Waterbury, has been around since 1854 but that’s not the same as Timex.
Ответитьnowadays, if you wanna get scam, buy from timex online
ОтветитьMy brother had a Timex redwing Waterbury Chronograph 45mm, about 5 years ago. It was a nice watch, but he sold it after 3-4 months, because he didn’t feel it it. My friend still has a expedition field watch, but the crown broke a few years ago. I still have a plan to buy a timex q, but I can’t find the gold plated black bezel model anywhere.
ОтветитьI like my timex but low key fuck my timex. If I had known anything about watches I would not have bought the one that I did.
Ответитьthe classic design is very great though, sometimes i wonder why they dont make watches with better movements. some people will buy it if they keep the classic designs and good quality
Ответитьthank you Time Teller for the information
ОтветитьNah, Rory. I’m good. Sure, Timex looks affordable…until you lol at the specs or actually hold the pieces in your hands. They’re constructed of cheap materials, and the quality control leaves something to be desired. Hard pass on Timex.
ОтветитьI think if you see a woman wearing a watch now, odds are it's an Apple watch.
ОтветитьWould get about 5 years out of an Ironman battery and then has I’d beat to the point I would replace the watch. Work was really hard on the watches. I wish Times would get into the fitness watch area as the durability of fitbit is TERRIBLE.
ОтветитьTimex took ok the "Timex" bame and the slogan in the 40's. You can even find some early 50's Timex commercials online.
ОтветитьI remember Timex watches and their keeps on ticking slogan from the late 1950s.
ОтветитьI recently bought two snoopy Timex watches. The Marlin (my first automatic), and a weekender.
ОтветитьI have a '73 Marlin that is still tickin'
ОтветитьTimex is an underrated brand most watch collectors didnt like it. If japan have casio then usa have their timex
ОтветитьRandom observation: I always have to turn your videos down to avoid waking someone up… your sound is mixed HOT 😆
ОтветитьLove these videos, but please drop the lame jokes.
Ответитьis timex MK1 worth buying ?
Ответитьtimex - Casio ❤️
ОтветитьAll over the place. I’ve never had a Micky Mouse watch. Did you research the old Dundee factory that shut in 1993?.
ОтветитьMy first watch was a Timex when I started at the 'big school' in the 60s. Still remember my pride as I looked at it, and also the Ad campaign of the time with the famous Jingle ~ ' Ring the bells with Xmas Tidings, Ticker ticker Timex, Tra La La "
