Another excellent video that is helping to expand my knowledge of Astro photography during the hideous weather conditions in the U.K.

I personally liked your image before you did the background extraction.

Nice! I’m really intrigued by the linear de-noise vs later in post. Hoping to hear about your experience as compared to topaz later after you use it for a bit.
Cheers!

Finally a good use for AI! :P I just tried this out and it is a completely painless process. Thanks for showing us this utility!

Thank you Rich for your great videos, they helped me a lot learning Siril. I was looking into buying Pixinsight and the RC plugins, but after seeing what Graxpert 3.0 can do, i am not so sure...Looks like Siril/GraXpert are the way to go for my casual post processing needs, mainly with my Seestar S50.

Never heard of this piece of software. Runs on Linux too, so I'll definitely play around with it.

Would be nice to see your entire workflow from raw to finished image. I already have my workflow, based on Nico Carver's (Nebula Photos), but it's always interesting to compare how different people approach the same task, and which tools they use.

Great video, I gave the new version with Denoise a test drive yesterday, pretty good results. Cuiv did a comparison between GraXpert and NoiseXterminator, the results GraXpert seemed to hold up well.

Will have to give this ago. I was finding graxpert to leave weird banding when I loaded it back into siril? Almost some kind of incompatibility? Maybe this version will be different?

Rich, maybe just me still learning this stuff. When i followed your steps and then i went to open the file i cleaned up in Graxpert and i Did open the new file in Siril it sort of looked like nothing had be done to it?? I saved as a 32bit FIT file once i open in Siril and AutoStretch it looks nothing like what came out of Graxpert. Appreciate any help

Awesome, been waiting for better denoising. That's probably my biggest remaining issue (noise) and running Linux the options are more limiting (no Topaz for example). I'll try this out soon, thanks for the quick demo!

Thanks.
This is awsome! I watched Cuiv's video last night. Then wondered if, and when I'd be separately putting it in this new version of graxpert. Using it as a plug-in, wow...
Glad I waited to download it.

Is this something you would use before using Siril or after as I do with Topaz denoise?

Total newbie here. Graxpert is installed. -Advanced tab
-Background extraction
and
-Denoising AI model
only have "none" available, in dropdown.
What am I doing wrong?😊

Thanks Rich ! Great video and super helpful. I just started working on the Whirlpool and the initial GraXpert run is quite impressive and look forward to further processing in Siril. So my first question is: after I do the background extraction and denoise in GraXpert, then when I take that version into Siril, then I completely skip those same steps in Siril? So no further background extraction in Siril and I can jump straight to Photometric Color Calibration? Second question is: prior to Deconvolution in Siril, you recommended to use the Image Denoising step... so I can skip that part too? I don't want to over-process or anything like that, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Rich.

Great video, thx! Since I am lazy, sometimes skip calibration frames, don't do guiding, use my daily dslr as a camera and usually use my stock lenses, you can probably guess: Noise is often a BIG problem for me! I've gotten quite good at post processing in LR, but this will surely help, too!

Hi all, I used GraXpert last version with AI for background extraction and denoising and It did a good work. I saved both the processed image and the processed and stretched image, but when I open it in Siril it's as if GraXpert hadn't done anything because there's all the noise again. What am I doing wrong?

Tried my first S50 9mins on M106 until the clouds rolled in to ruin the fun.

The noise was mind boggling. I started to think if my S50 is broken.

Went to do the Siril processing first. Still so much noise.

Now I am on GraXpert. Definitely got rid of the Noise like completely like the image in the video. But I need more images to stack

OK have now tried this on some Hickson Galaxies but i notice that the DeN version has more colour contrasting across the background even if smoother vs the original and this gets stretched later in the process. I will say that the DeN version “brightens” the faint galaxies. Just wondering whether the background colouring is worth the hassle vs the denoise as i still have to take this out later?

Hey Rich. Rookie question. I am pulling the trigger to purchase a ASI533MC camera. All I need to do is access High Point from this webpage for you to benefit from my purchase? Thanks for your help, If you benefit from my purchase I am all for it. Just making sure I get it right. Bill

Hi Rich. I tried GraXpert on a file after stacking in SIRIL and it will not load the .fits file. It loads fine if I save it as a tiff file. Any thoughts?

denoise doesn't seem to work for me. I'm getting the known issue "We have received reports that onnxruntime might cause issues on certain Windows 10 systems ("ImportError: DLL load failed while importing onnxruntime_pybind11_state")" Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones. No worries. I'll figure it out sooner or later.
