How To FIX JoyCon NOT Detected by Nintendo Switch in Handheld Mode!

the third one worked like magic and we used an air compressor.

If it's disconnected we can't hold x.

Currently on the step where I have to let it charge... I guess we will see the results in 3 hours!

I am 3 years late but another solution I found that worked for me is isopropyl alcohol. Gently take apart joy con and use some on the bottom of the back joy con rail. If that doesn't work then try cleaning the inside bottom rail or the switch where the bottom of the joy con snaps into place (keep in mind that spot is hard to reach. If you want to clean it easily you may need to take your switch apart. I managed to clean it with a cotton ball an using tweezers to get them inside)

Simply watching this video randomly fixed my joy cons. I can’t thank you enough

Joycons were a mistake.

I did the third method with WD40 and also notice at the very bottom in the groove of the slider for the switch theres a connection point were the joycons directly lines in to the switch. Cleaned that as well with the WD and we are brandnew again. I even did the to joints you gased I just WD though. FYI guess WD40 non-conductive and can even fix button issues. Thanks and cheers everyone!!!

Absolutely do not follow this use for compressed air. It is liquid fluorocarbon and while not very conductive its not 0 conductivity and can cause a short in the right scenario, it can do damage if you bridge contacts. It most likely won't but its also not going to help you. Blowing off anything other than the contacts is not much use. The contacts are on the bottom side of the rails on the switch and under the black plastic at the bottom portion of the joycon, no point in blowing out slots that have nothing to do with the connection. Use a brush to clean these contacts and if that doesn't work Nintendo offers free shipping and repair to fix your joycons. Dumb luck fixed this switch.

How the hell do I press X if both of them are disconnected??? That doesn’t work and it doesn’t magically fix itself like other people are saying
