Watch as the 2014 Singapore Aeropress champion, Alif Badri takes you behind the scene as he demonstrates how to brew a cup of coffee - the aeropress way. This unique brewing method of aeropress is most apt in drawing out the best - the most delicate of flavor - in every coffee bean. The end product: an almost tea-like consistency with its own characteristically complex fruity and nutty undertone.

An aeropressed coffee - as agreed by many - can be viewed as a cross between an americano and a filter coffee. However, the aeropressed coffee exists without the depth of the americano and the metallic bitterness of a filter coffee. And if you are still skeptical about your coffee being brewed the aeropress way, take it from our aeropress champion Alif who states it no better, "a good cup of coffee - aeropressed - is so good that once you've gone black, you'd never look back."

Aeropress Champion 2014 Competition Brew Recipe:
Inverted Brewing Method:
16.5 gram of coffee
220 ml of water @ 92°C
Total Brew Time : 2 min 10 secs

1. Pre-heat Aeropress brewer & drinking mug
2. Pre-wet/ pre-infuse coffee with 40ml of water for 30 secs, to release the gas in coffee
3. Shake & agitate slightly to fully saturate the coffee
4. Fill up the remaining 180ml of water till the rim of Aeropress
5. Single Filter, for clarity
6. Serve on a vessel
7. Enjoy the brew!
