Hey Guys - SO This was a huge video for me, I promised more editing in 2019 and I'm trying.... CHECK THE LINKS IN THE DESCRIPTION - I did some digging and found some of these on offer and cheaper...
Which is your favourite? Which will you try now?
Leave me your thoughts I look forward to reading them.
my problem with stabilo back in school was, that the tips often start to split... never happened to me with another pen... and often they start that youre only able to draw upright... as soon as u get some kind of angle when the pen is a bit older, it starts to not putting down paint to the paper :/ also had this problem with some molotow pens
Ответитьthe Uni Pins are simply the best. Excellent for doing fine details, strong pigment colour, no blobbing (unlike others) and excellent value for money.
ОтветитьWhat are fineliners?
ОтветитьMy Stablios are from the 1990’s and still work, lol
ОтветитьWait the Micron is $6.80 !
For me one micron costed around $3
Did I miss the watercolor test? I really couldn’t care less about the alcohol test.
ОтветитьWhat do you EXPECT by NOT ordering from anywhere BUT Amazon! I buy most of my pens and markers from MarkerPOP and PLAZA-ART, among others except Amazon, so I saved MORE money than you did, ADCArtAttack!
ОтветитьActually the micron fine liners tend to run out fast😅 Just for anybody that wanted to get them
ОтветитьI personally like sakura the best but it is like 3$/pen here
ОтветитьNot sure if 4 years ago (Artline fineliners) existed. But, I love those the best (here in Australia anyway). They range from: 0.1mm - 1.0mm! Great for both writing and drawing with.
ОтветитьOut of all the “Multiliners”, the “COPIC Multiliner” is my most favorite. It may be expensive (for a pen), but it’s worth every penny, because they’re Ink Refillable, and they’re made of an excellent material.
ОтветитьSakura pigma best in the best ♥️♥️♥️
Ответитьthe faber castell ecco pigment is amazing
ОтветитьThank you! Now it will be easier for me to buy the right equip☺️
ОтветитьYou have to rember for copic, they where traditionally for manga artists. because of that manga and animation are still a large target groep for the company, meaning that they are meant to be used over and over again for long durations, hence why they are refillable, that's also the reason for the price, you only need to buy one pen, and when you realise that once the pen is empty the refill things make the pen cheaper than a lot of the non refillables once your at that point of having gone trough 3 pens or so. But for these kinds of products I never worry for the price. Like you said they last forever, so I don't mind it something costs a few bucks more if I only need a few and it will last me for a long long time
Ответитьin my country, sakura is 1$ and uniball is 6$. in my opinion, i don't think the manufacturing cost of these fineliners are that high. the price just varied by how each company invest different countries with different investments.
so, just buying most cheaper one in your country. in my case, its sakura.
You should test it on cheap paper. The Sakura Micron has a diluted ink which means line feathers on contact with the paper and if you were to draw lines at a slower pace, the lines will be not have consistent width and it will blot the paper slightly. It makes sense it didn't perform well in the smudge test.
I do love my Uni Pins too! It was cheaper. Much much cheaper 2 decades ago. It was cheaper than the Pilot G-tec. Also, varying pressure on paper allows for varying line widths. Someone hacked these pens to make them refillable. I hope Uni can make a refillable version too.
The best thing to do is mix and match as you create
ОтветитьThanks for the review! I now know what unipin to buy
ОтветитьMy favorite for sketching lines and shading with copic are the pilot precise v5 and v7. They are water based and do not smudge with copic markers. The line is consistent, keeps up with any speed, and writes smoother than a plastic or felt tip. I have tried copic multiliner, staedtler, flair, and a few others and the Pilot Precise V5 and V7s rule for me. The only thing is that I have not found a good bold liner. The pilot bravo is great but does smudge with copic markers. I just ordered some pilot precise V10s and hoping they will be as good as the v5 and V7s but bolder.
ОтветитьAwesome review and you saved me a lot of money tonight!
ОтветитьAmazing video, not boring and very proffecional! Thank you! :D
ОтветитьUni Pin`s are awesome (:
ОтветитьThe HUGE problem with the stabilo pen is that it is water based dye and not pigment ink, which means that firrst it's not lightfast, and second it will completely dissolve if you get moisture anywhere near your linework. It may not be a dealbreaker for someone but it is for me. Shame because it is definitely an amazing pen considering the price.
ОтветитьI know Copics are stupid expensive, but I use Copic markers as well, and i know that I'll get the top notch quality I expect every time. Copic it is for me, I just love them.. but the price fricking hurts man.
ОтветитьNice video. 5 years w/the Uni Pin?? Impressive and surprising. I'm assuming the pen gets consistent use from you weekly. I would like to see you compare the top pens from this list using a few different papers. I would also like your thoughts on the cheaper plastic version of the Copic Multiliner, and I'd like to see you try the best-scoring pens on a few different papers. For me, I've used Pigma Microns more than others, and I haven't found near the longevity that you mentioned w/the Uni Pin...I wonder though if it's the nib giving out or the ink supply? Anyway, you made a very helpful video.
Ответитьmicron 05 is best pen of drawing
ОтветитьThe stabilo mopped the floor with them. You were really unfair with it, pulling it out of the competition as "budget" or because it does not look "professional". The one problem is that it's not archival grade like the sakuras (I don t know about the others). The roller ball pen was a weird choice, mostly because it's not the most popular, and because they tend to be too wet and to goop ink around the ball. You have to clean them a lot to have clean lines. Gels like Pilot G2, Signo 207 and Papermate inkjoy are much more popular and a pleasure to use, while still archival grade. The ball is still a problem though.
ОтветитьWhat is your opinion of the TUL brand pen?
ОтветитьI tried a faber-Castell liner once and it lasted maybe 2 weeks compared to the Microns which can last me 2-3 sometimes four months
ОтветитьWhat's fineliners
ОтветитьUni-ball eye micro is my pen. I love it and I use it in all my drawings. Sorry you couldn’t handle it. Guess it takes a REAL man. Lol
ОтветитьAw I just wish you'd test you the waterproofness
ОтветитьI use microns and they are fantastic, but they do smudge a bit, keep that in mind when deciding what fineliners to buy.
ОтветитьI use stabilo and I love it
ОтветитьStill a great video 2 years later.
ОтветитьJ U I C E
ОтветитьI use a uniball fine liner, prismacolor fine liner, and micron fine liners. They are really good for watercolors and gouache.
Ответитьlol he said "best pen is"
ОтветитьI use the micron as my everyday liner and I’ve never had it smudge
ОтветитьDone subscribed, tq for this useful infos.
ОтветитьHey! Do you know if stabile handles water?
ОтветитьI love the unipin! However, now i am curious to try the copic, it is less than 5-6$ in India, so i guess that makes me curious ! Also, I wonder if i can refill that with any other ink, like atramentis ?
ОтветитьI've been using the staedler fineliner for about a year now its awesome.
ОтветитьVery good presentation
ОтветитьI thought the ECCO would be top 3,seemed to do really well in score department
ОтветитьI have no idea how long fineliners are supposed to last but I love my set of Sakura. I just wish I got the larger set with the brush pen. But I could just buy one at Michaels or something. I also have a 4 set of prismacolor fineliners I bought cus BRUSH TIP. I don't feel like I get the variation I want with it though and the ink on the brush and chisel look dark grey. This review has me considering getting a stabilo for sketching cus I can very stingy with art supplies and I try to just use my fineliners for line work
ОтветитьI Use the Steadtler Pigment Liner , For Years my Favorite. The Stabilo 88 not Waterproof they bleed with Watercolor. Also the Pens very Cheap in germany 2 € at least ( they are produced here)
ОтветитьEssentially I grew up with the Stabilo so I am not too surprised - however, I have the feeling that there is significantly less ink in those now than during the 1990s.
