My POV- vids/stories/posts get views because its what people want to see. If people are interested in your story, or post, theyll view it , "like it" and comment. And it means they like you. If youre not liked, people will not view your stories, like your posts, It has nothing to do with "algorithm", viral trends, or whatever. Its has to do with how much youre liked. If youre not relevant, you won't get views. And what people like and respond to says everything about the viewer as well.

1 minute i was editing a reel, toggled off 'share to feed' and decided to save it as draft - 5 minutes later i go back to it to post it and the share to feed option was completely gone. it's still gone 5 days later. what happened? did they remove it?

okay that is some real anti-guru stuff you're sharing there 😂. I guess I'm doint it all wrong then because I legit post my reels with no to low added value into my stories everyday 😱.
Questions there: If it does not provide any extra value (alternative caption, hook, etc. in addition to the shared reel) => is it better not to post to "share reel to story" stories at all? And wait for a relevant story idea? Or is story posting everyday somehow important?

People who Are saying IG is dead, not sure if you check on other accounts for studying but I do and I can say, IG is not dead. Some accounts with zero effort videos, some with only few months old accounts, some with 4s random loop videos are getting traction and increasing followers. Dont know why but some of us are just stuck in the bad books of IG. So yes maybe IG is dead but its our IG thats dead, for some, IG is very much alive and thriving. I have been implementing everything:
1. Posting consistently
2. Posting at the same time according to insight
3. Posting reels both short ones and long ones
4. Posting reels that add value and reels that loop for entertainment
5. Sharing posts right away in stories
6. Posting stories everyday with interactive stickers
7. High quality videos
8. Posting carousels
9. Adding texts in videos both in IG and capcut
10. Adding seo caption in videos
11. Writing here's why
12. CTO to read caption so people stay on my videos longer

I stopped sharing my reels to stories, because what I've notices is that it counts views, but I think it doesn't count how long the views are.

It feels like views from the story reshare count as 0s watch time.

And watch time is very important, right?

Literally everytime I share a reel to the story, the average watch time drops a lot.
Ex. I've had a reel that had ~110% avg watch time, so it obviously was interesting. And after posting it to story it dropped to like 70%

The more views on story reshare = the less avg watch time on reel analytics

Links in your story absolutely crush your engagement. On average I get about 300 to 500 views in my story. Any time I put a link, which I don't do often, it struggles to reach 100 views

I find that my Story views are the best if I let my previous day's stories expire and then add one story only, preferably not a video. Regardless of the topic of the story: it can be my cat's photo or a typed in rant or my outfit pic. Is that because Instagram considers this as "all of my stories" for the day being watched by more people, so it gives me more reach?..

I know a lot of this stuff fortunately and have been implementing what works. I’ve seen good growth over the past few months. Stories need to matter to your subject audience otherwise it’s irrelevant and won’t help your account.
Think of your ‘brand’ when creating and posting stories.
